ActioNet is looking for a Cyber Security Analyst to our federal government client (background check but no clearance is required) REMOTE – Work from Home. This role is to provide Mid-level technical operational support, administration and maintenance of the production applications.  This position offers outstanding self-driven learning potential, expects a high level of commitment, collaboration with various teams and inherent work ethic.


Responsibilities: 
Primary areas of concentration include but not limited to:

  • Provide technical services to securely remediate vulnerabilities identified in various national applications and infrastructure environments.
  • Identify potential vulnerabilities and threats to existing and proposed technologies to improve overall security posture through continuous monitoring and monthly reports.
  • Perform risk assessments using enterprise tools and standard methods to periodically re-evaluate the system’s sensitivity, risks, and mitigation strategies and assess the impact of new requirements for national applications.
  • Coordinate with the IT Security Office (ITSO) and Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) to ensure that independent risk assessments of system security features are performed regularly and maintain documentation of the results.
  • Recommend and validate the successful implementation of risk mitigation activities for non-production and production environments.
  • Provide in-depth domain expertise and promote all industry cyber-security best practices to support development teams and collaborate with technical infrastructure staff to ensure the project environments meet AO infrastructure and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) requirements.
  • Assess system security architectures to include the software, hardware, and communications to support the requirements and provide for present and future cross-functional needs and interfaces.
  • Test and evaluate new enterprise cybersecurity tools to mitigate risks and integration challenges related to cybersecurity policy compliance.
  • Monitor and investigate potential security incidents using enterprise cyber security tools and dashboards.
  • Report incident monitoring monthly and draft incident reports within 72 hours of an incident during investigations.
  • Assist with security automation for legacy systems to improve continuous monitoring and maintain a robust security posture.
Skills Required:
  • 5 years of experience in IT Security governance.
  • 5 years of experience with Federal regulations, particularly NIST 800-53.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or similar are preferred.
  • Experience with GRC tools such as Xacta or CSAM is desired
  • Experience working with Agile teams and SAFe responding to security assessments, and providing oversight of any vulnerability audits and assessments.
  • Experience with Splunk and/or Fortinet.
  • Must be able to work within a team and individually.
  • Must have good documentation and communication skills.
  • Must be able to understand the customer’s need and provide solutions accordingly.
  • Auditing and Compliance experience is desired.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
