Description
ActioNet has an immediate opportunity for a Database Administrator in Newport, RI. We are requiring a Top Secret Clearance. ActioNet is an IT service provider and solutions integrator headquartered in Vienna, VA that works with the Federal Government and Department of Defense.
Target start date: Q1 2025
Responsibilities:
• Administer databases and data management systems for data storage, query, and utilization.
• Develops, maintains, and administers databases and/or data management systems that allow for the secure storage, query, and utilization of data.
• Conducts data integration, data modeling, analytics modeling, and data mining.
• Install, configure, and maintain database management systems and software.
• Database configuration management, problem management, and capacity management.
• Database incident management, service level management, change management, release management, continuity management, and availability management.
• Analyze and plan for anticipated changes in data capacity requirements.
• Data consolidation, data sharing and access management.
• Monitor and maintain databases to ensure optimal performance.
• Backup and recovery of databases to ensure data integrity.
• Provide recommendations on new database technologies and architectures.
• Knowledge of query languages, table relationships and views, data encryption, security features, application programming interfaces, data administration, and standardization.
• Optimizing database performance, data mining and data warehousing applications.
• Develop databases using SQL, Visual Basic and Java programming languages and front-end applications to access the databases using web technology.
• Documented specification of database coding, workflow, logic, test plan and testing.
• Ad-hoc queries and/or reports using a 4th generation language.
• Database conversions and linking web and database applications.
• Configuration documentation, user manuals, and standard operating procedures.
• Data integration, data modeling, analytics modeling, and data mining.
Requirements:
• BS degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, or Computer Science, from an ABET accredited or CAE designated institution. (Required or certifications below can be substituted in lieu of)
• Microsoft Access and Microsoft SQL Server (Preferred certification)
• GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC)
• CompTIA Cloud+
• CompTIA Security+
• Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)
• Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Security
