Job Title: Subject Matter Expert – Manual QA
Role Summary
We are seeking a proactive and highly adaptable Subject Matter Expert (SME) to drive quality and documentation standards across our product ecosystem. In this role, you will be responsible for testing program modules of increasing complexity and ensuring that the latest releases of integrated products are thoroughly testing. You will serve as a bridge between multiple teams—including Support, Product, and Implementation—providing consulting support for both modern and legacy products while mastering the integrated product ecosystem to ensure cross-module functionality aligns with client workflows and expectations.
Core Responsibilities
- Module Testing & Ownership: Take ownership of testing assigned program modules to ensure they meet strict procedural standards.
- Documentation & Knowledge Transfer: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for assigned modules to serve as the "source of truth" and guide for other teams using Confluence.
- Cross-Product Synchronization: Ensure the latest releases of integrated products are tested, documented, and verified in conjunction with core modules to prevent service disruptions.
- Legacy Product Support: Provide specialized testing and analysis for legacy products, ensuring they remain stable and performant alongside modern releases.
- Interdepartmental Interaction: Proactively interact with developers, business analysts, and support teams to drive defect resolution in Jira.
- Advanced Manual Testing: Execute thorough black box, exploratory/heuristic, and end-to-end testing methods to ensure complete product coverage.
- Release Governance: Test software releases and all associated documentation for accuracy and completion prior to distribution.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business, or equivalent work experience.
- QA Experience: Prior software manual QA experience preferred with a proven track record of mastering complex modules and working with multiple teams of different types (e.g., Development, Product, Support, and Business stakeholders).
- Adaptability & Drive: Proven ability to "float" between different projects as the owner with a high level of self-drive and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
- Interpersonal Prowess: Strong communication skills for interacting with multiple teams and managing diverse professional personalities.
- Technical Skills:
- Jira and Confluence: Proficiency in managing defects and maintaining documentation within these platforms.
- Knowledge of relational databases, SQL, and query writing for data validation.
- Knowledge of API Validation: Understanding of how to use tools like Postman or Swagger to manually verify backend data flows and integrations.
- Web Troubleshooting: Use of Browser Developer Tools (Console, Network tab) to diagnose UI issues and integration errors.
- System & Log Observation: Ability to review application logs to provide detailed technical context in bug reports.
- General knowledge of AI use in testing (Claude, Gemini, ChatGPT).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Methodology: Solid understanding of QA testing methodologies and the full software development lifecycle (SDLC).

- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills for managing multiple work streams.
