Tyler Technologies is looking for an IT Incident & Crisis Management Intern to join our Corporate Cloud Services team this summer! The IT Incident & Crisis Management Intern will be responsible for supporting the development, documentation, and operationalization of enterprise-wide incident response and crisis management procedures across Tyler’s divisional and corporate technology teams. This role will assist in building a scalable, centralized framework that enables consistent communication, vendor coordination, and resource management during operational disruptions, security incidents, and service outages.

Additional responsibilities will include partnering with infrastructure, cloud operations, security, DevOps, and application teams to understand current state response capabilities and assist in the creation of standardized response playbooks aligned with enterprise shared services and governance models.

This role will contribute to the organization’s ability to rapidly respond to technical incidents by improving procedural maturity, communication workflows, escalation paths, and cross-functional coordination between decentralized delivery teams and centralized corporate services (IAM, AD, DNS, cloud platforms, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and documentation of IT incident response and crisis management procedures for divisional and corporate technology teams 

  • Work with DevOps, Infrastructure, Security, and Cloud Operations teams to understand existing incident management workflows and identify procedural gaps 

  • Support the creation of standardized incident response playbooks for application outages, cloud infrastructure failures, vendor disruptions, and security events 

  • Work with Tyler Communications team to help establish enterprise communication frameworks for incident response including escalation paths, stakeholder notifications, and executive briefings 

  • Document lessons learned from past incidents and assist in integrating those findings into updated procedures and response frameworks 

  • Support development of crisis management governance models including roles and responsibilities across decentralized delivery teams 

  • Participate in tabletop exercises and assist in post-incident reviews and reporting 

  • Research industry best practices for enterprise incident management (e.g., ITIL Major Incident Management, NIST Incident Response Framework) 

Qualifications

  • Interest in enterprise IT operations, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, or technical program management 

  • Strong Communication and documentation skills with attention to details 

  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly across cross-functional teams 

  • Interest in operational resilience, disaster recovery, or enterprise risk management 

  • Ability to learn new technical concepts quickly and work independently
