The Mission:

Join Tyler Technologies as a Business Development Representative in our mission to help government and schools become safer and more connected through industry-leading software.
To be successful in this role you need a passion for breaking into B2G (Business-to-Government) tech sales.

Responsibilities: 

  • Lead Generation & Pipeline Growth: Execute targeted prospecting and high-volume cold calling through Outreach to uncover new opportunities and maintain a steady pipeline of qualified leads for the sales team.
  • Lead Qualification & Management: Serve as the first point of contact for inbound inquiries, evaluating prospect interest, budget, and timelines to ensure high-quality hand-offs to Sales. 
  • CRM Administration & Data Governance: Manage the Microsoft Dynamics CRM system by accurately updating account, contact, and competitor data to support sales analytics and organizational reporting goals.
  • Market & Product Intelligence: Develop deep expertise in the public sector competitive landscape and company software lines to deliver high-impact messaging that resonates with potential prospects.
  • Strategic Collaboration & Reporting: Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Leadership to align on campaign goals and provide regular visibility into prospecting activities through detailed performance reporting.
  • Performance Tracking & Collaboration: Work closely with Sales, Marketing, and Business Development leadership to report on daily activities and monitor the progress of qualified leads. 
  • Brand Ambassadorship: Act as the first point of contact, persuasively communicating Tyler’s mission and solutions.
 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales or comparable work experience.
  • Comfortable with high volume, out bound prospecting motions. 
  • Previous experience with Outreach, ZoomInfo, Pursuit, Salesloft, Gong preferred. 
  • Previous BDR/SDR sales experience is preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong phone presence and persuasion skills.

Business Development Representative's average base pay is typically $60,000-$70,000 Plus a sales incentive plan.
