Senior Compensation Consultant
Description
The Senior Compensation Consultant supports the design, administration, and analysis of Tyler’s compensation programs. This role provides expertise across base pay, incentives, equity, sales compensation, and executive compensation, contributing research, modeling, and recommendations that inform program decisions. The consultant assists with the preparation of Compensation Committee materials and CD&A disclosures, supports the execution of compensation projects, and partners with HR and business leaders to ensure practices are competitive, equitable, and compliant. In addition, the role provides analytical and coordination support for the company’s sales compensation programs, working closely with HRBPs, Sales leadership, Finance, Sales Operations, and Legal to ensure consistency, compliance, and timely distribution of incentive plans.
Responsibilities
• Provide analysis, education, and guidance on compensation policies, programs, and practices to HR partners and business leaders.
• Support the planning and administration of compensation programs, including base pay, annual salary review, variable pay, equity, and sales compensation.
• Contribute research, modeling, reporting, and presentation materials in support of compensation initiatives, including those related to executive compensation and proxy disclosures.
• Assist with the preparation of Compensation Committee materials, including performance metric analyses, reports, and supporting documentation.
• Provide analytical support for sales compensation programs, coordinating with HRBPs, Sales leadership, Finance, Sales Operations, and Legal to ensure compliance and consistency in administration.
• Oversee the production and distribution of sales incentive plan documents in partnership with HRBPs.
• Participate in survey submissions and compensation benchmarking studies.
• Evaluate jobs for grade placement and support reviews of grade level changes.
• Maintain compensation-related technology tools and external market data sources.
• Support the development of compensation communications, tools, and job aids.
• Monitor regulatory changes and provide input on needed adjustments to programs and practices.
• Contribute to efforts to improve and streamline compensation processes.
Qualifications
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in compensation.
• Strong knowledge of compensation principles and practices, with experience in base pay, incentive programs, equity, and sales compensation.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct analysis, develop recommendations, and present findings to HR and business leaders.
• Experience supporting executive compensation, including preparation of materials for leadership or Board-level review.
• Advanced skills in spreadsheets and databases; strong analytical and mathematical capabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage ambiguity and work collaboratively across multiple stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
• Familiarity with data visualization or business intelligence tools.
• Experience in the technology industry.
