Description
Tyler Technologies is looking for DevOps Engineer Interns to join our team next summer! The DevOps Engineer Intern plays a critical role in designing, building, and maintaining scalable, secure, and highly available infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines across cloud environments. This position supports the Technical and Cloud Services group in delivering automation-first solutions that enhance the reliability, performance, and efficiency of applications serving courts and public safety organizations. The engineer will collaborate closely with development, QA, and operations teams to streamline deployment processes and ensure seamless delivery of software products.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform and Ansible.
- Manage and optimize cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) to ensure performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
- Develop and maintain monitoring, alerting, and logging systems (e.g., CloudWatch, DataDog, ELK Stack) to proactively detect and resolve issues.
- Collaborate with development teams to integrate DevOps best practices into the software development lifecycle.
- Maintain documentation for infrastructure, processes, and procedures to support knowledge sharing and compliance.
Qualifications
Required:
- Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS preferred; Azure or GCP acceptable).
- Strong scripting skills in PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Solid understanding of networking, security best practices, and system administration (Windows and Linux).
- Familiarity with Microsoft technologies: Visual Studio, C#, SQL Server, IIS.
- Experience with monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., DataDog, CloudWatch, SolarWinds).
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset.
Preferred:
- Experience with .NET Framework and web development practices.
- Familiarity with tools like Octopus Deploy, Hangfire, RabbitMQ, and ElasticSearch.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., JIRA, Microsoft CRM).
- Exposure to performance tuning and cost optimization strategies in cloud environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skill, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and drive resolution in a timely manner.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Creative problem solving with demonstrated pattern of applying creative solutions to bridge the gap between product development and environmental considerations.
