Position at Nissin Ion Equipment USA, Inc.

We are looking for a Field Service Engineer who will be remotely in one of these locations: Raleigh/Durham; NC; Colorado Springs, CO; or Marcy, NY. This person will be responsible for the standard field service activities, including equipment installations, maintenance, repairs, and upgrades for Nissin's ion implanters. This person will be reporting to the Director of Field Service Engineering.     
Job Duties and Responsibilities    
  • Responsibilities of the standard field service activities include equipment installations, maintenance, repairs, and upgrades for Nissin's ion implanters.
  • You may work as a part of a team or be assigned to a site as Nissin's sole representative.
  • Your prime goal is customer satisfaction. You must provide excellent customer service, listen carefully to customer concerns, and address issues until the customer is satisfied. You should work with the customer to ensure optimal performance of the ion implanter(s) at all times. You should provide customer phone and e-mail support as necessary.
  • Travel (at least 50%) is required for training and to work remotely at customer sites in the U.S. and Europe. There are possibilities of nighttime shifts, emergency calls and overtime. You must be flexible to work holidays if requested by NIUSA.
  • The customer will produce their product(s) in a clean room. You will often be required to enter the clean room and follow all customer cleanroom protocols.
  • You should be prepared to work a 12-hour shift if required. The shift will include long periods of standing and will be subjected to the customers' fab environment.
  • At times, a heavy item may need to be replaced. You will sometimes be required to lift items up to 50 pounds or the specific weight limits specified by the supplier of the part.
  • You are expected to follow all Nissin and site safety rules not limited to lock-out tagout, two-man worker rule and proper gas handling. If there is a safety-related question, you should stop work until the concern is registered to the manager. At that point the manager will either work with the customer to rectify the issue or direct work to continue (with or without conditions).
  • You will be required to prepare reports about your tasks. You should also be prepared to assist with shipping and receiving while at a customer site or in the NIUSA office.
  • You will be required to make technical documents to reduce the risk of trouble and enhance the productivity of the ion implanter(s).
Qualifications    
  • At least two years of Ion Implant or other semiconductor process tool experience.
  • Experience with Ion Implant skills and semiconductor FSE.
  • Must have fluent communication skills in English. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to speak/read/write German is a big plus.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Ability to work on a PC environment. 
  • Ability to travel to Europe.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Good attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
   
Compensation may vary depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, competencies and location. Base pay is one part of the total compensation and benefits package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives.
