Position at Sumitomo Wiring Systems (U.S.A.), Inc.

Sumitomo Wiring System (U.S.A.), Inc., a Sumitomo Electric Group company, is looking for a full-time and exempt Collections Specialist who will be working in El Paso, TX. This person will perform a wide range of accounting functions/activities and assist in the application of principles of accounting and, with experience, may manage complex issues.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintaining and organizing accounting documents for the collections department.
  • Daily preparation of cash deposits and filling out cash control ledger daily reconciling with bank statements.
  • Answering customer and management inquiries related to payment application and collection.
  • Updating the account’s ledgers and, in case of any discrepancies, investigating variances to correct the problems.
  • Manage collections for some accounts by preparing account statements and sending them to customers, as well as following up with them on any past due amounts by providing the necessary documentation.
  • Supporting the billing department when necessary.
  • Keep accounts receivable report in good standing (nothing over 30 days past due)
  • Conduct weekly accounts receivable meeting
  • Collections – calls to customers, send statements and follow-up
  • Other duties as assigned, as necessary.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
  • 2- or 3-years Collections Accounting experience
  • Proficient bi-lingual Spanish/English communication skills required; working experience at international and automotive companies preferred.
  • High-level proficient computer skills required “intermediate” experience in excel (including word, excel and accounting software).
  • Ability to research.

Compensation may vary depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and competencies. Base pay is one part of the total compensation as well as a strong benefits package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work.
