Summary:     
Inspects and ensures the quality of work performed during the daily activities of the construction on a large-scale wind, solar, transmission, and battery storage project sites, to include roads and/or foundations, turbine installation/solar panel installation, collection systems, OHL and substations.     
Requirements:        
Relationship Management Accountabilities:    
  • Interfaces with subcontractors. 
  • Communicates and reports to Discipline Manager (Civil, Turbine, Electrical.)
Planning:    
  • Participates in Plan of the Day (POD) meetings as necessary.
Reporting:    
  • Completes and submits daily inspections, reports, and paperwork for site activities. 
  • Reports daily updates, including variances in subcontractor performance to discipline manager.
  • Provides information for potential change order items.
QA/QC:    
  • Assists in tracking deliverables on site.  
  • Observes and inspects work performed by civil, turbine/mechanical and electrical subcontractors on site, ensuring compliance per drawings, specifications, and applicable codes in safety and environmental.
  • Ensures project work outputs comply with standards and meet contract requirements.
  • Inspect all materials and equipment supplied by subcontractor to ensure that it meets the project design and industry standard criteria.
  • Reviews, documents, and assists with completion of job books. 
  • Ensures Safety requirements, Quality and Environmental procedures are followed.
  • Civil QA/QC:
    • Inspects roads, crane pads, intersection improvements, excavation and backfill, and foundations for quality and to ensure that the project design and tolerances are followed.
  • Turbine/Mechanical QA/QC:
    • Ensures Subcontractor performs work safely and follows Turbine Vendor Manual/Solar Vendor Manual and Civil Drawings and site-specific instructions, as well as complies with standards, drawings, specifications, mechanical code and meeting contract requirements. This includes:
      • Inspects all mechanical components for quality, reports any variances to contract requirements.
      • Inspects all mechanical placements and civil to ensure that proper equipment is supplied and placed according to project design and industry standard work practices.
      • Inspects all mechanical installations to ensure project and environmental requirements are followed.
      • Inspects the placement of all mechanical equipment to ensure that project design and tolerances are followed.
      • Inspects all mechanical installation operations to ensure that the project requirements are followed.
  • Electrical QA/QC:
    • Inspects electrical work for quality, reports any variances to contract requirements. 
    • Inspects the placement of all cables to ensure that projects design and tolerances are followed. 
    • Inspects all cabling operations to ensure that the project requirements are followed. 
Safety:    
  • Leads by example to show that safety is the most important function, ensuring that all employees follow safe practices while working.
  • Participates in JHA completion and review.
  • Completes routine safety inspections, identifying and communicating hazards as necessary.
  • Follows safety and security procedures and determines appropriate action.  Reports potentially unsafe conditions and handles materials and equipment appropriately.  
  • Operates Company vehicle to oversee site operations according to site safety rules.

Qualifications:     
     
  • High school/GED required.
  • Associates Degree Construction, Engineering, Technical Studies, or Trade School preferred.
  • Certification NICET and/or ACI License preferred.
  • No experience if degreed or trade school certification required.
  • 1+ years or more years of experience preferred
  • Advanced knowledge in:
    • Communication
      • Internally with Engineering, site teams, corporate office

  • Domestic travel 76-100% required.
  • Valid Drivers License required.
Anticipated base salary range:  $28.50 - $36.50    
Premium Daily Per Diem paid for food, lodging, rotational Travel      
     
The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. This position is bonus eligible.
