Summary: The Senior Vice President of North America Services is the senior manager executing RES strategic plan for growing and expanding our services business and overseeing all daily activities of the Asset Management, Operations & Maintenance, and Advisory Services teams for North America (USA & Canada). The SVP manages all aspects of the business with responsibility of the Regions Profit and Loss and with support from the global heads of each othe different O&M technologies (Wind, Solar/Bess, Offshore). All regional Business Development/Sales and Operations activities will report directly to the SVP of North America Services. 

Requirements:

  • Ensures all activities are performed safely and ensure “everyone goes home safe everyday.”
  • Develops annual strategic plan and 5-year budget forecasts.
  • Accountable for the annual profit and loss, cash management, and managing risk related to two P&L divisions, Asset Management and Operations & Maintenance as well as the significant growth RES has planned in the services sector.
  • Leads VP and Director level direct reports and the broader team of c.15-20, hires motivated and professional candidates consistent with our values to support level of investment and growth targets.
  • Defines and implements growth strategy for the North America region, leveraging the know-how and global resources to build a long term profitable and sustainable business in the region.
  • Helps define acquisition strategies to underpin strategic growth objectives and RES competitive advantage.
  • Leads onboarding and integration work after a successful acquisition(s).
  • Ensures all members of the services team have a defined career path and objectives established.
  • Identifies, assesses, and manages key accounts in order to win new business within the wind, solar, and storage services technology markets.
  • Negotiates project agreements with senior managers of asset management and operations & maintenance for various services including at-risk, consulting, and time and material type contracts.
  • Collaborates and drives the adoption of new technologies to increase the value RES can offer its clients and improve profitability while decreasing risks on new and existing contracts.
  • Reports monthly to executive team on progress on executing strategic plan.
  • Interacts and coordinates with other RES business lines, development, construction, and engineering to support business development activities and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Collaborates with other RES global offices to ensure consistency of services provided to global accounts.
  • Attends work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected.
  • Complies with Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct, and Company Policies & Procedures.
  • Develop and lead organizational growth strategy while scaling the operations department.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and evaluate operational performance, providing regular reports and insights to the executive team and stakeholders.
  • Create a work environment that provides direction and promotes continuous learning and development. Attract and select the best talent by recognizing organizational and individual needs. Accurately appraise the strengths and weaknesses of direct reports and provide accurate, motivating feedback and constructive criticism.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Have excellent knowledge of Asset Management and Operations & Maintenance scope of services and the cost basis for these services.
  • Be able to define, develop and close complex business development deals.
  • Be able to onboard and manage multiple projects in multiple locations against tight timeframes and budgets.
  • Have excellent project management skills and a highly organized approach.
  • Have excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Be highly capable of managing internal and external resources.
  • Have the ability to understand the internal and external environment within which RES operates and to act as RES’s representative as required.
  • Have demonstrated commercial acumen, in addition to technical abilities, overall sound business judgment as well as the ability to direct the company’s business strategies in North America in an increasingly competitive marketplace.
  • Have the energy, drive, leadership, and vision necessary to execute RES’s growth strategy.
  • Have a proven track record of successfully growing Asset Management and Operations & Maintenance businesses, c.25% YOY.
  • Experience from within the energy industry where he or she has demonstrated the insight, vision, and leadership to successfully manage and operate electric generation projects in the USA and Canada.
  • Ability to maintain good working relationships with utilities, their regulators, transmission system operators, and other market participants.
  • Ability to establish a risk assessment processes that optimize the use of the services teams resources in a market with tight margins.
  • Five years of Asset Management and Operations & Maintenance experience in the renewable energy (wind, solar, storage) marketplace.
  • Understand the changing technology in services in North America, and know how to monetize new technologies to increase RES competitive advantage and profit margins.
  • Extensive knowledge and capability to adapt to local culture and business practices.
  • Ability to travel and at times at a moment's notice.
  • Functional competencies include accountability, building strategic partnerships, business acumen, ethics & integrity, and managing vision & purpose.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration required
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration required
  • Minimum of 15 years in Energy and/or Services Industry and leadership
  • Domestic and International travel required 31%-50%
  • Valid Driver’s license required
