Salary Range: $60,000-$75,000/annum
The Opportunity:
The Retail Analyst supports business performance by analyzing data, producing insights, and delivering clear reporting to Retail and Operations stakeholders to track performance and identify insights/opportunities in support of strategic growth plans. This role focuses on turning data into practical, decision‑ready insights while improving the consistency and efficiency of analytics outputs. The role requires a blend of exceptional execution, business acumen and detailed understanding of the day-to-day business and retail goals.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze retail and operational performance data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Partner with key stakeholders to understand their business strategies, identify the data required to support those strategies, unlock insights, drive action, and track performance.
- Develop and maintain dashboards, recurring reports, and ad‑hoc analyses for Retail and Operations stakeholders
- Support store, field, and operational initiatives through KPI tracking and insight generation
- Partner with cross‑functional teams (Sales Planning, Operations, Marketing, Finance) to define metrics and support business initiatives.
- Support forecasting, budgeting, and performance tracking with a strong operational lens.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and clear definitions across analytics outputs.
- Identify opportunities to automate and streamline reporting processes.
- Communicate insights clearly through presentations, summaries, and visualizations.
- Post-Secondary degree, preferably in Business/Commerce
- 2–5 years of experience in an analytics, business intelligence, or data analysis role
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail
- Proficiency in Excel and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI or similar)
- Experience working with large datasets from multiple systems
- Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for non‑technical audiences
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Retail, operations, and/or franchise experience is an asset
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret retail and operational performance and translate data into clear, actionable insights
- Solid understanding of store‑level and field KPIs, including sales, inventory, labour, execution, and operational compliance
- Ability to support Retail, Field, and Franchise Partners by improving performance visibility and data literacy.
- High attention to detail with a strong focus on data accuracy, consistency, and clear metric definitions.
- Effective communicator, able to present insights and recommendations to non‑technical audiences in a clear and practical manner.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and uncertainty; the ability to adapt nimbly and collaborate with others through complex situations.
- Comfortable working cross‑functionally with Retail, Operations, Finance, Marketing, and IT to support business initiatives.
- Curiosity and an entrepreneurial mindset to foresee the business needs and provide actionable insights to anticipate and meet these needs.
- Proactive problem‑solver who identifies opportunities to improve reporting, streamline processes, and enable self‑serve analytics.
- Ability to negotiate with stakeholders on priorities and timelines, and pivot quickly when required to address key business objectives.
- Performance driven with strong work management skills, able to prioritize deliverables and meet timelines in a fast‑paced retail environment.
