Role Overview

Lean Tech is seeking a Senior Scrum Master to support the software development team by managing sprint execution, maintaining delivery visibility, and ensuring development initiatives remain aligned with strategic objectives. This role is responsible for coordinating Agile delivery operations for a team building enterprise integration services and automation platforms. The Scrum Master will facilitate development workflows, track engineering performance metrics, and provide clear communication on project status and deliverables. You will work closely with the Director of Development to maintain development cadence, remove blockers, and ensure that engineering efforts are aligned with roadmap priorities. This role focuses on operational delivery management and development workflow efficiency.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate Agile development processes and coordinate ceremonies including sprint planning, daily standups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Ensure the development team maintains a consistent and predictable delivery cadence while maintaining sprint boards and backlog tracking systems.
  • Track progress of development initiatives, monitor key engineering delivery metrics (sprint velocity, cycle time, throughput, delivery predictability), and provide regular progress reports to leadership.
  • Work with the Director of Software Development to maintain backlog prioritization and ensure user stories and technical tasks are clearly defined and ready for development.
  • Identify issues blocking development, work with stakeholders to remove obstacles, and escalate risks to maintain project timelines.
  • Coordinate cross-team dependencies when development work interacts with other departments or systems, helping to coordinate work across frontend, backend, and integration efforts.
  • Assist with software release planning, ensure release documentation is prepared, and coordinate communication regarding upcoming releases and system changes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve development workflows, recommend improvements to Agile processes, and help maintain documentation of delivery workflows.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience supporting software development teams in Agile environments.
  • Experience serving as a Scrum Master, Agile Project Manager, or Delivery Manager.
  • Experience using development tracking tools such as Jira or similar systems.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Experience coordinating multiple development initiatives simultaneously.
  • Ability to communicate technical project status clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience facilitating Agile ceremonies and maintaining sprint discipline.

Nice to have skills

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), or similar Agile certification.
  • Experience supporting teams developing enterprise integration platforms or backend systems.
  • Experience tracking engineering delivery metrics and performance analytics.
  • Experience preparing executive-level status reporting.
  • Experience coordinating release planning and deployment communication.
  • Familiarity with Git-based development workflows and CI/CD deployment processes.

Soft Skills:

  • Ability to maintain an efficient development workflow that allows the engineering team to deliver integration services and platform capabilities on schedule.
  • Capacity to ensure that work remains organized, development progress remains visible, and delivery blockers are addressed quickly.
  • Strong focus on enabling engineers to focus on building software while maintaining a predictable and transparent delivery process.
  • Collaboration skills to work effectively with all team members, with a strong focus on team leads.
