Position Title: Senior Implementation Manager
Location: Remote LATAM
What you will be doing:
The primary purpose of this senior-level remote position is to lead and manage global implementation projects within the transportation, logistics, and supply chain sectors. A fundamental requirement for this role is extensive, hands-on freight forwarding experience, specifically encompassing ocean freight, air freight operations, and international routing. The successful candidate will partner closely with business units, sales, and management to develop solution-driven strategic plans, establish dedicated implementation teams, and ensure global initiatives are effectively communicated across the organization. Key responsibilities include utilizing project management methodologies and tools such as Jira to execute business requirements analysis, implement testing processes, and monitor performance metrics. Furthermore, this role involves ensuring strict compliance with company policies, ISO guidelines, and regulatory requirements, as well as developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to train staff. Operating as a vital liaison, the professional in this role will employ advanced diplomacy and negotiation skills to resolve complex, escalated issues affecting clients and senior management. Unique aspects of this position include conducting comprehensive operational and financial post-mortem assessments and maintaining a readiness for significant domestic and international travel, particularly to Europe or Asia, which necessitates a valid US Visa.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct global implementation initiatives by leveraging extensive expertise in freight forwarding, specifically ocean and air freight operations, and international routing.
- Partner with business units, sales, and management to develop comprehensive implementation project plans and establish dedicated implementation teams using advanced project management methodologies.
- Execute business requirements analysis and testing processes, utilizing Jira to track project milestones, identify timeline constraints, and mitigate risks effectively.
- Ensure global projects and programs are effectively communicated across the organization, undertaking domestic and international travel (including Europe and Asia) to oversee critical project phases.
- Formulate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and deliver comprehensive training to implementation teams and staff to ensure operational readiness and alignment with business requirements.
- Enforce strict compliance with all related company policies, ISO guidelines, and other regulatory requirements throughout the lifecycle of all transportation and supply chain projects.
- Address and resolve critical or escalated issues affecting clients, staff, and senior management through advanced negotiation, diplomacy, and strategic problem-solving.
- Evaluate project performance by monitoring key metrics across individuals, teams, and processes, and conduct comprehensive post-mortem assessments to measure both operational and financial success.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging technology changes, innovations, and industry trends within transportation, logistics, and supply chain operations through continuous study and professional networking.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of related professional experience, with at least 5 years of industry-specific experience preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of supervisory or managerial experience required.
- Mandatory hands-on experience in freight forwarding, specifically encompassing ocean freight and air freight operations, as well as international routing.
- Prior professional background serving as an operator, supervisor, manager, or key account manager within a freight forwarding organization.
- Comprehensive knowledge and practical experience across all areas of transportation, logistics, and supply chain operations.
- Proficiency in project management methodologies, including the development of solution-driven strategic plans, timeline constraint identification, and risk mitigation.
- Demonstrated experience utilizing Jira for project tracking, implementing business requirements analysis, and managing testing processes.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet applications, and web-based or job-specific software applications.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including the ability to influence departments, implement change management, and effectively allocate decision-making authority to maximize organizational effectiveness.
- Strong analytical aptitude for evaluating complex problems and developing viable alternative solutions.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with fluent English proficiency (reading, writing, and speaking) to effectively present information to management, employees, and clients.
- Experience in assisting with the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and training implementation teams on new requirements.
- Ability to maintain stable performance under pressure and utilize flexible interpersonal styles to build cohesive teams across diverse, multi-functional backgrounds.
- Willingness and ability to travel both domestically and internationally as dictated by project requirements; possession of a valid US Visa (or applicable visas for Europe or Asia) is mandatory.
