We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Backend Developer to lead the development, scalability, and evolution of a custom Product Information Management (PIM) platform.



Position Title: Lead Backend Developer

 

Location: LATAM

 

What you will be doing:

 

This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer with strong expertise in product data modeling, taxonomy design, and system integrations, combined with a passion for leveraging AI-driven solutions to automate and enhance catalog management at scale.

 

You will play a central role in enabling high-quality, structured product data across multiple business systems and channels, supporting a rapidly growing automotive eCommerce ecosystem.

Required Skills & Experience

 

  • 5–8 years of software development experience, with focus on PIM, catalog, or product data systems
  • Proven experience building or maintaining custom PIM or catalog platforms
  • Strong proficiency in: PHP and Node.js
  • Solid experience with MySQL and/or PostgreSQL:
  • Expertise with Data modeling, Schema design and Query optimization
  • Hands-on experience with RESTful APIs and system integrations
  • Experience developing ETL/ELT pipelines for data ingestion and transformation
  • Deep understanding of: Product data modeling (attributes, variants, hierarchies)
  • Multi-channel publishing



Nice to Have Skills

 

  • Familiarity with AI/ML APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic)
  • Familiarity with eCommerce platforms (Magento, Shopify, WooCommerce)
  • Exposure to Go (Golang) for high-performance processing
  • Understanding of search technologies:
    • Elasticsearch, Solr, or Algolia
  • Experience with supplier onboarding and data normalization at scale
