We are seeking a motivated Lead Backend Developer to support and evolve our Order Management System (OMS) within a fast-paced automotive eCommerce environment.
Position Title: Lead Backend Developer

 

Location: LATAM

 

What you will be doing:

 

This role combines hands-on development in a LAMP-based system with the opportunity to contribute to the modernization of the OMS into a scalable, AI-powered platform. You will work closely with senior engineering leadership while collaborating with cross-functional teams such as operations, warehouse, and customer service.



Required Skills & Experience

 

  • 5 + years of professional software development experience
  • Proficiency in: PHP (7.x / 8.x)
  • Strong experience with JavaScript or TypeScript 
  • Strong experience with Node.js for backend services or APIs
  • Solid experience with MySQL and/or PostgreSQL (queries, schema design, optimization)
  • Hands-on experience with RESTful APIs and third-party integrations
  • Proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflows
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment

 

Nice to Have Skills

 

  • Proficiency with LAMP stack (Linux, Apache/Nginx, MySQL, PHP)
  • Experience with modern PHP frameworks (Laravel, Symfony)
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
  • Experience with Docker or containerization
  • Background in eCommerce platforms (Magento, Shopify, WooCommerce, or custom OMS)
  • Understanding of order lifecycle processes (fulfillment, returns, inventory)
  • Exposure to AI/ML tools or APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic)
  • Experience with EDI integrations or supplier data feeds
  • Familiarity with Go (Golang)
  • Knowledge of microservices or event-driven architectures
  • Experience with frontend frameworks (React or Vue.js)
