Job Title: Production Supervisor
Job Status: Salaried
Direct Reports: Feed Mill Technicians, Maintenance Technicians
Reports Directly to: Feed Mill Manager
Nature of Position:
Leads the Smithton, MO Production Team to produce swine feeds as efficiently and as safely as possible while meeting all corporate and government guidelines. Responsible for the daily production operation of the feed mill, ingredient receiving, feed production and feed delivery, coordinating feed hauling with external third-party provider. Leads safety, housekeeping and continuous improvement efforts. Responsible for the quality of the feed that is produced at the site. Supervises the feed mill employees and responsible for their performance evaluations.

Essential Functions:
- Meet hourly/daily goals, maximizing the feed mill capacity while meeting corporate and business unit guidelines.
- Schedules and controls the production process following existing protocols, production records and controls.
- Monitors feed orders and assures proper execution in order to deliver feed on time.
- Coordinates with transportation regarding feed deliveries.
- Supervises and coaches feed mill employees. Keeps feed mill manager timely informed of successes and challenges related to personnel.
- Coordinates with Feed Desk, field staff and/or feed logistics personnel on feed deliveries and feed quality.
- Reviews daily production data and completes appropriate paperwork.
- Performs regular mill walkthroughs and acts on corrective procedures.
- Monitors inventories on site, and coordinates with merchants on ingredients in a timely manner.
- Controls formulas and coordinates with Formulation on formula requirements in a timely manner.
- Assists the feed mill manager with implementation and monitoring of milling programs and special projects.
- Coordinates with maintenance supervisor on preventative maintenance activities.

Required
- HS Diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years’ previous supervisory experience in feed milling, or 5+ years previous supervisory experience in other manufacturing environment.
- Effective leadership skills.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal or written).
- Ability to organize multiple tasks and priorities.
- Ability to work effectively within a team.
- Intermediate proficiency in MS Office Tools.
- Able to operate a forklift.
- Safety training courses completed (OSHA or company required).
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, climbing ladders, lifting up to 60lbs.
- Less than 5% travel.
Preferred/Desired
- Bachelor Degree in feed manufacturing, industrial engineering, or related field
- 10 years’ previous supervisory experience in feed milling.
- Feed Mill Management experience.
- Experience in construction projects.
- Knowledge of Labor Relations and ability or organize and motivate people.
- Past performance shows highly developed leadership skills.
- Proficient in using of MS Office tools.
- 30 Hour Construction Safety Course (OSHA)
Working Conditions:
- Will be exposed to the elements depending on task at hand
- Will be required to climb ladders and work on elevated platforms.
- Work somewhat close to other people, such as when sharing work space.
