TECHNICAL SERVICE MANAGER ASSISTANT

Job Title: Assistant Technical Services Director
Location: Green Bay
Reporting to: Technical Service Director
Essential Job Functions:
- Ensure company follows Standard Operation Procedures related to Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points in order to guarantee the production of safe and clean products
- Oversees QA Superintendents, Supervisors and hourly QA technicians in all aspects of food safety and product quality for the slaughter and fabrication areas
- Meet with plant management daily informing them of any zero tolerance occurrences, non- compliance recordable, departmental budget constraints, and any new HAACP or SOP implementation/updates
- Works with third party pest control and plant cleaning company to ensure zero infestations and pre-operation cleanliness
- Confirms proper compliance to regulations when running a specialty product in plant
- Communicates closely with corporate office reporting any changes or updates to QA/Food Safety department
Requirements:
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED equivalent, further education or degree preferred but not required
- At least 2-4 years of experience in a variety of areas in a meat processing facility, especially slaughter and animal handling areas
- Knowledge of plant operation and departmental general functions
- HACCP Certified and previous HACCP experience in development, implementation, and modification of HAACP plans
- Knowledge and familiarity with regulatory requirements; working closely with both production groups and FSIS.
Skills/Abilities Required:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Independent and self-starter
- Strong leadership skill and proven ability to develop, train, and continually motivate a team
- Ability to quickly identify and correct opportunities as they arise
- Must be capable of quick and calculated decision making to guide and advise production when non-routine events occur
- Expertise in Microsoft Office suite
