Essential Job Functions:

  • Support installing, servicing, and repairing mechanical equipment. Support activities related to the maintenance, repair, and service of plant equipment, buildings, and facilities
  • Plan, organize and direct the manufacturing and maintenance operations to ensure the most effective return on assets
  • Initiate plans and processes to minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials and capital
  • Utilizes working knowledge of electrical systems, both control and industrial wiring, pip fitting, plumbing, welding, shop machinery, sheet metal, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical controls and instrumentation to maintain plant equipment at optimal level. 
  • Utilizes knowledge of automatic equipment operation to include setup, repair and tear down in order to maintain plant equipment at optimal levels, inspecting completed work for conformance to blueprints, specifications, and standards.
  • Maintain the plant Preventative Maintenance Records. 
  • Send out maintenance schedules on a weekly basis
  • Responsible for all physical plant facilities, systems and equipment
  • Identify and monitor issues as they arise and implement solutions
  • Participate in the ongoing support of the Processing Operating System
  • Ensure safety compliance for buildings, equipment, and staff
  • Interprets company policy and enforces company policy and practices.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists in solving work problems.
  • Maintains production equipment in a manner that meets organization standards and ensures minimum equipment downtime. Requisitions tools, equipment, and supplies
  • Contributes to the on-going development of JBS GI policies and procedures.

 

Experience Required:

 

  • Minimum 5 years maintenance experience preferably in a food processing plant, but experience in a highly regulated large industrial or manufacturing environment will be considered
  • Extensive experience maintaining & managing building services/systems using contractors & staff
  • Experience with quality improvement and risk management processes an asset
  • High School Diploma/GED equivalent required; college degree preferred

 

 Skills/Abilities Required

  • Must have a working knowledge of preventative maintenance, Powerhouse, facilities, equipment, machinery, refrigeration, pipe fitting, plumbing, welding, ship machinery, sheet metal, hydraulics, pneumatic, electrical controls and instrumentation and PLC controls in a lean manufacturing environment
  • Proven knowledge of building & fire codes, health & safety standards
  • Proven leadership and people management skills in a high paced, multicultural environment
  • A self-motivated and results-oriented team player with strong people skills.
