PLANT MANAGER - Protein Conversion
The position of Plant Manager will direct and manage the team members of our Protein production operations in Edinburg VA. This position will ensure production meets objectives at a designed quality level consistent with the lowest cost while maintaining a safe work environment and a quality product.
BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Managing daily operations of the protein plant.
- Managing all aspects of operations to assure a safe working environment.
- Coordinating the production, maintenance, sanitation, and quality, shipping and receiving areas.
- Monitoring performance of product efficiency, yield and quality goals.
- Setting objectives and reviewing shift's performance versus objectives.
- Encouraging subordinates to find ways to reduce cost in a safe manner with high quality expectations.
- Coordinating with production and maintenance to meet daily needs of the operation.
- Analyzing data, KPI goals, P&L statements, ZBB budgets and variable
- Providing a clear sense of direction for supervisors and team members, encourage teamwork to achieve goals by accountability and ownership.
- Establishing challenging goals and standards for each supervisor and encourage them to give their best effort.
- Ensuring effective utilization of human resources by training subordinates, motivating consistent performances, appraising performance, recommending and developing for potential promotion.
- Conducting plant inspections to eliminate hazardous conditions.
- Taking immediate action to eliminate improper practices or hazardous conditions that don’t meet OSHA standards.
- Should possess strong math skills. This will facilitate the ability to analyze processing options with calculated outcomes.
- Should be computer literate (Excel, Word) SAP and Shopfloor.
- Should possess strong communication skills, both oral and written
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years’ experience in the poultry/protein industry required with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Must have good leadership skills.
- Must have the ability to interact with operational and processing management.
- Must demonstrate critical thinking skills.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must have the ability to organize and prioritize work tasks.
- Planning ZBB budgets for the operations
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma/GED; bachelor’s degree preferred.
