RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee and develops implements and executes HACCP process.
  • Maintain product integrity and food safety within the plant.
  • Oversee QA, Sorters, and delegate tasks within the area.
  • Oversee the training of all people within the quality assurance area.
  • Implement government mandates regarding quality control in all areas of the plant.
  • Maintain effective communication channels between government and plant officials.
  • Have Knowledge of USDA regulations for beef Mod requirements.
  • Monitor all government regulations regarding food safety both inside and out of the plant.
  • Keep employees focus on HACCP procedures.
  • Create and implement quality control programs in the plant.
  • Schedule facility upkeep items with maintenance
  • Oversee Pest & rodent contractors to insure they are completing their jobs in a safe and professional manner.
  • Coordinate standard operating procedures for each production area in the plant.
  • Oversee the constant review and updated product quality control programs, keeping constant with JBS standards
  • Oversee and coordinate Animal Humane Handling Programs
  • Oversee and coordinate 3rd party auditing performed for the Hyrum facility
  • Manages food safety supervisor, & numerous food/ safety technicians as indirect reports.
  • All other duties as assigned by Technical Services Manager and Corporate Technical Service Team
 
QUALIFICATIONS 
  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in the quality assurance area with relevant college experience.  Position may require more experience if employee has no college experience.
  • Previous HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points), Quality Assurance or Quality Control experience required.  Knowledge of live stock production or food processing beneficial.
  • 2 – 4 years Supervisory/Management experience.
  • Comprehension of USDA regulations, government policies and standard operating procedures needed. As well as communications with USDA officials and various customers

  • Discusses sanitation, product specifications, rodent/pest control and facilities improvement issues with the plant personnel. Types and distributes memos as needed.
