Position Overview:

The position of Network Engineer is to develop and maintain functional and secure networks. This role should have excellent problem-solving skills and thorough knowledge of network administration and architecture. Goal will be to establish networks that cater to customer needs.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Design and deploy functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN, SD WAN, Cloud)
  • Configure and install software, servers, routers and other network devices
  • Monitor network performance and integrity
  • Resolve issues tiers of support have escalated by troubleshooting cloud and local infrastructure
  • Automate tasks and monitor their effectiveness
  • Create, oversee and test security measures (e.g. access authentication and disaster recovery)
  • Communicate with users when needed
  • Maintain complete technical documentation
  • Suggest improvements to network performance, capacity and scalability

 

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • 7 to 10 years Industry-related experience as a  Network Engineer                       
  • Professional certification preferred (e.g. CCNA, CCNP, CCDP)
  • Solid background in network administration and architecture
  • In-depth understanding of communication protocols (mainly TCP/IP) and routing protocols (e.g. BGP, OSPF)
  • Working knowledge and understanding of 802.11x protocol.
  • 802.1x Authentication or ISE
  • Experience with Cisco ASA 
  • Familiarity with access control models and network security
  • Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring and analysis tools (e.g. SolarWinds network tools)
  • Experience with Cisco/Meraki Enterprise wireless network design, configuration, and support
  • Experience with wireless measuring and design tools such as Ekahau and Air Magnet.
  • Solid understanding of network operating systems 
  • Sharp troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Organizational and mentoring skills
