Salary Range - $86,000-$96,000 

Please note:  We are only considering local candidates who live within a commutable distance from the company.  This position is not remote.  

Position Overview:

Provide Human Resources leadership, strategic partnership, coaching, and development to Transportation and Corporate leaders and employees to accomplish operational objectives. The HR Manager within the Corporate and Transportation Division will deliver HR programs and solutions to support the long-term and short-term business goals.  As well, this role will establish a culture of positive employee relations where all leaders and employees are engaged in the success of the business. 
 
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Lead the human resources effort to ensure that all policies, processes, and regulations are adhered to in a consistent and timely manner.
  • Coordinate the recruiting process with Talent Acquisition for hourly and salary vacancies including job fairs, open houses, job postings, interviews, etc.
  • Help Recruiters schedule the screening and Supervisor/Manager’s interviews and help select candidates for various Transportation hourly and salary positions.
  • Coordinate/conduct new hire and new leader orientations.
  • Demonstrate a working business knowledge and take a consultative approach to assessing and providing creative HR solutions.
  • Effectively coach leadership in employee matters, HR processes, and HR programs. 
  • Recommend and create effective employee counseling and/or coaching documentation.
  • Manage resolution of employee relations investigations to ensure fair, consistent, and proper resolution in alignment with company policy, procedures, and values.
  • Manage HRIS and administrative tasks to provide proper and accurate data entry, maintenance, and reporting in a timely manner.
  • Represent CJ Logistics at employee-related hearings and investigations.
  • Review reports and dashboards that measure business improvements and suggest future changes or decisions. Use data to drive business decisions.
  • Partner with leaders to develop a culture of positive employee relations and engagement
  • Responsible for providing coaching and counseling to improve retention and promote CJ Logistics America’s principles
  • Advise and consult with HR Leadership during difficult and highly complex HR issues, including performance management, corrective/disciplinary action, and investigations
  • Address employee issues and/or complaints to ensure all concerns are investigated thoroughly, documented properly, and resolved in a timely manner. 
  • Serve as a trusted partner and provide recommendations to Management and HR leadership.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of the CJ Logistics HR systems and operational systems as it relates to human resources
  • Maintain the highest level of integrity and confidentiality when utilizing employee data
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legal/regulatory employment law and requirements
  • Additional duties as assigned

 

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required, SHRM or HRCI certification preferred.
  • At least 4 to 6 years experience in an HR Management position. 
  • DOT and Transportation experience is required
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to influence, resolve conflict, and drive desired business results. 
  • Demonstrated previous HR experience making complex decisions based on company policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with excellent verbal and written skills.
  • The ability to successfully collaborate with exempt and non-exempt employees
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency with computers including all Google platforms.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent employment relations and conflict management skills.
  • Ability to identify and anticipate location needs and make recommendations.
  • Ability to interact with all organizational levels and build trusted relationships.
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret data.
  • Ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities.
  • Ability to function independently with minimal supervision.
