Position Overview:   
   
Local Drivers will be team players that understand a timely delivery of goods and other articles of trade to our customers is the best thing for our customers. The Local Driver’s responsibilities include arranging goods inside the company truck based on the order of delivery, answering customers’ questions, and notifying management of customer complaints. You should be able to adjust to local travel routes in instances of traffic congestions, road maintenance, and accidents. You will be responsible for safely operating a truck and maintaining trucks that will be assigned to you, as well as  working closely with our team of dispatchers in order to plan routes and track deliveries.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:    
   
Transport and deliver freight in a safe, efficient, timely and legal manner    
Hook and unhook trailers; secure freight; install and remove tire chains as required by weather    
Load and unload trailers and perform lifting, pulling, pushing and carrying freight    
Complete all necessary paperwork and maintain records required under state and federal laws                                                                                                                
Ensure that all operations are in compliance with state and federal laws and regulations    
Perform routine inspection and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment and    
Represent the Company and the trucking industry in a professional manner    
Additional duties as assigned.    
   
Requirements and Qualifications:  
   
  A valid Class A CDL Drivers License is required.    
▪        A minimum of 12 months experience working in a full-time Class A tractor/trailer driving    
▪       No more than two (2) moving violations while operating a personal or commercial motor vehicle     
▪       No serious traffic violations or convictions while operating a commercial motor vehicle   
  Knowledge of all applicable DOT Regulations and Motor Carrier Safety Regulations  
  Able to squat, crouch and reach as needed – up to 2 hours intermittently per shift.    
  Able to enter and exit the vehicle’s cab numerous times each day.    
  Able to lift/carry/push/pull up to 75 lbs.    
  Able to stand and walk up to 10% of the day.    
  Must be able to work in severe weather conditions — both hot and cold.
