Position Overview

As a member of the TES team, domiciled at the corporate offices in Des Plaines, IL, this position will support use case development and deployment of innovative solutions across the network.  Key core goal is providing technology based automation solutions that reduce dependency on manual processes at a cost aligned with the customer.  Candidate will work with data from current operations and potential new business to provide vetted solutions to deploy technologies across the network.  Candidate will validate, summarize and provide simulation results and presentations for deployments.  The candidate will be responsible for maintaining reporting of results and provide status update summaries to leadership.  This position will focus on developing CJ Logistics America as a leader in innovation and automation.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Proficiently provide statistical analysis of technology options and demonstrate ability to apply results to deploy use cases in E-Comm and warehouse environments.
  • Develop ROI’s and tracking KPI’s for project justifications. Be able to defend integrity of implemented methods and solutions.
  • Develop, implement, and present various reports to support technology deployments.
  • Trend research – other competitors, new technologies and provide the report to C levels.
  • Work cross functionally with stakeholders in Operations, IT, and Corporate TES.
  • Provide presentations to internal, vendor, and customer leadership to report on projects and to propose new projects. Assist the sales force with presentations (RFP’s) of innovative solutions to our existing and potential customers.
  • Prioritize and effectively manage multiple projects of moderate to high complexity with minimal oversite
  • Utilize project plans to set priorities, deliver on project milestones, prepare for contingencies and find solutions to technical barriers and obstacles.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities and respond to situations as they arise without supervision.
  • Provide project/process leadership to team problem solving, identifying new project opportunities and guiding the development of the initiatives through engineering, research, and prototyping. Evaluate new technology alternatives as potential solutions to existing problems

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Automation, Business Management, SCM, or equivalents.
  • 1-2 years of experience with data mining analytics, automation or 1-2 years of experience in warehouse setup, pickline, zoning, racking layoutsAll vendor experience a plus.
  • Advanced proficiencies in SQL/data mining analytics, AutoCAD, simulation programs, Office Suite, Smartsheets or similar Project Management software
  • This job operates both in a professional office/distribution environment, and within Logistics Centers across the U.S. with travel - up to 65% (Project based, may qualify for future relocation to project state).
