Reporting directly to the APAC Controlling Director of our Engineering and R&D Business line, you will oversee all controlling activities for Japan. Acting as a Finance Business Partner for the country Managing Director, you will be in the middle of all finance-related decisions and in charge of providing financial analysis and supporting decision making by providing financial expertise.   

Responsibilities 

• Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances 

• Project controlling, advising business teams on how to maximize financial performance at customer engagement level. Support project kick-off and closure in financial systems. 

• Support Business team in decision making related to deals, delivery or investment 

• Ownership of monthly reporting cycles, including monthly actuals, forecast and annual budget exercise 

• Providing financial analysis and reports; pro-active involvement in improving reporting and processes across Finance 

• Support month-end and year-end close process 

• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls 

• Presentation of the financial position with valuable analysis on variances and key risks 

• Strong cooperation with Business Controllers; handling ad hoc request from senior management and CG Group Finance 

• Oracle EBS - (GFS) handling 

Profile 

• To fulfil the role, we are looking for talented candidates with the following profile: 

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in R2R - accounting (GL or Project accounting), controlling and/or, reporting 

• Ability to work in a dynamic environment with constant exposure to senior leaders, managers and other business stakeholders 

• Knowledge of accounting fundamentals 

• Ability of multitasking, prioritizing and organizing own work in order to deliver to agreed deadlines 

• Relevant experience of working as Finance Controller, Business (BA), Data Analyst (DA) or relevant experience in a similar role within technology 

• Experience of working with data in a Capital Markets/Banking/IB environment, preferable Reference data (highly desirable) 

• Japanese native level and Business level English (line manager of the position is non-Japanese speaking. 

• Highly organized with attention to detail 

• Ability to exhibit high level of professionalism in team-oriented environment 

• Oracle EBS (GFS) knowledge would be an asset as well as experience in preparation of financial reports 

• Team player that can work with people across different departments, countries, and regions 

• Advanced MS Excel skills; strong analytical skills 

• Ability to work independently; proactive, open-minded and team player
