The role 

Reporting directly to the Japan Head of Engineering, you will be leading the Medical Devices Software Engineering Practice. 

In this tole, you will be in charge of the engineering teams as well as the activities related to pre-sales, offer development, project delivery respective financial results. 

As of today, the Software Engineering engagements are mainly related to Medical devices 

 

Responsibilities 

Practice Development 

  • Structure the practice and form a team able to meet customer needs in Japan in the Embedded and Application Software field  

  • Understand new market needs and design a strategy to keep the practice relevant. 

  • Act as a subject matter expert on Medical devices lifecycle, standards and related technology. 

  • Proactively lead meetings with clients and prospects to scope solutions and drive client engagements. 

  • Drive growth of existing Customers through meeting Delivery expectations, and look for opportunities to extend collaborations. 

  • Coordinate and maintain relationships with key Partners, Vendors, Capgemini and Client stakeholders. 

  • Responsible for developing technical solutions and value propositions for our clients leveraging his team and group capabilities. 

  • Participate in the creation of technical responses to customer challenges. 

  • Join proposal defense meeting with customers. 

  

Delivery Support 

  • Accountable for the project delivery in his unit, in Japan.  

  • Accountable for the financial project results in his unit. 

  • Ensure Subject Matter Expertise exists in selected customers engagement. 

  • Be the escalation point for clients regarding the team performance and delivery issues 

  • Conduct client project meetings, including being the primary contact to the client and managing the delivery team  

Team Management 

  • Ensure the members growth, acquiring new skills, working well together and feeling engaged and supported.  

  • Responsible for identification and recruitment selection of new talent into your team. 

  • Responsible for the coaching and mentoring.  

  • Interact with internal Learning and development functions to define a training plan.  

  • Ensure employees satisfaction and positive culture in line with the Capgemini Values 

  • Ensure high assignment of the team to customer projects, self-development or pre-sales activities  

 

Profile 

  • 10+ years’ experience within a Life Science R&D Center or with a Service company offering Embedded Software, and Digital related services. 

  • Past Experience in bringing products or services through the entire lifecyle from concept into production. 

  • Knowledge in Embedded OS/RTOS (VxWorks / QNX / Windows / WinCE / Linux / etc…) 

  • Knowledge in Embedded Languages Embedded C & Embedded C++, VC++, Scripting skills  

  • SDLC for Medical Devices or similar areas. 

  • Entrepreneurial and autonomous spirit 

  • Strong negotiating and influencing skills 

  • Team Management experience is required 

  • Team player and Flexible 

  • Fluent in English and Japanese (JLPT N2 preferred
