The role   
As part of the Leadership team of the Engineering and R&D (ERD) Global Business Line in Japan, you will oversee the delivery of engineering activities for the country and will be accountable for the overall success of all portfolios, programs, services and projects in your remit. You will be accountable for all delivery matters on behalf of the P&L owners.    
  • Responsible for planning and delivery – Delivery quality compliance, resource economic utilization and customer satisfaction for the Engineering Global Business Line (GBL) in Japan 
  • Responsible for relationship building with Customer key stakeholders within the account and responsible for customer satisfaction 
  • Build a community of Engagement Managers (EM), developing their knowledge, skills and increasing the number of EMs certified 
  • Ensures the Delivery and associated targets, standards & best practices are known and applied by the  EMs community members 
  • Defines, implements and run the Engagement and Bid Management processes within Japan 
  • Ensures full compliance to bid process: including all necessary reviews (Approval gates, Finance, Legal) 
  • Manages C level customer relationships within the Country from a delivery standpoint. Act as the highest escalation level for delivery matters before the Managing Director in country 
  • Ultimately accountable for all aspects of program management (risks & opportunities, project recovery, quality assurance, profitability, skills development…). 
  • Contributes to big or complex deal bid process, contract negotiation, scope or major issue client discussion 
  • Transforms projects from Staffing (Time & material businesses) to Fixed-priced commitments and off-shore through a Client Delivery Transformation approach 
  • Develops and improves Knowledge Management for delivery teams and beyond 
  • Designs Methods and Best Practices to develop an industrialization approach aiming to increase productivity on projects ultimately leading to better project financials 
  • Act as a key transformation leader in Japan, putting in place a strong collaboration with our delivery centers, notably in India 
  • Is accountable for Revenue, Contribution Margin %, Risk Management, Client Satisfaction and Project Quality  
  • 10+ years of engineering delivery or project management experience in Engineering related projects,  
  • Experience working for/with a service company  
  • Experience in end-to-end delivery/program management of complex and large programs is a Must 
  • Strong experience with client facing and ability to manage expectations 
  • High adaptability and organization skills to navigate complex organizations, clients and projects (multiple stakeholders, multicultural environment, on-shore / off-shore delivery) 
  • Leadership experience in continuous improvement initiatives and operations 
  • Thorough Knowledge of contract management & financial management 
  • Experience working with offshore delivery teams (India, Asia and/or Europe) 
  • Experience in any of the following domains is a plus: Digital Manufacturing, Embedded Software for Medical Devices, Automotive products or Connectivity & Networks  
  • Native level of Japanese and Business level of English
