Sr. Director Resident Engagement
Description
Tyler Technologies is seeking a Sr. Director of Resident Engagement to lead the strategy, growth, and operational success of our Resident Engagement Platform (REP) — Tyler’s digital front door connecting residents to government services across agencies, entities, and products.
This role is responsible for owning the platform as a business, including product strategy, market positioning, adoption, financial performance, and cross-portfolio integration. The Sr. Director will lead a growing, cross-functional team while partnering across Product, Engineering, Sales, Client Success, and Executive Leadership to scale REP as a foundational engagement layer across Tyler’s portfolio.
The ideal candidate brings deep GovTech experience, strong business and operational leadership, and a modern platform mindset. This leader will shape long-term strategy, accelerate adoption, influence go-to-market and pricing, and drive execution to deliver measurable outcomes for clients and Tyler.
Responsibilities
Business Ownership & Platform Strategy
- Own the overall vision, strategy, and success of the Resident Engagement Platform as a scalable, modular engagement platform and core Tyler offering
- Position REP as Tyler’s digital front door across state, local, and multi-entity government clients
- Establish growth objectives, adoption targets, and long-term platform expansion strategy
- Identify and drive AI, automation, and analytics innovations that improve resident engagement and operational efficiency
- Partner with executive leadership on investment planning, prioritization, and long-term platform roadmap
- Influence pricing, packaging, commercialization, and go-to-market strategy
Leadership & Organizational Development
- Lead and develop a high-performing, cross-functional team across product management, UX, technical writing, and related disciplines
- Build organizational capability to scale the platform and support long-term growth
- Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and customer-centered product development
- Provide coaching and mentorship to product and platform leaders
- Serve as executive sponsor for key platform initiatives and strategic client engagements
Roadmap, Execution & Operational Excellence
- Own and maintain a clear, outcome-driven roadmap aligned with Tyler’s strategic priorities and market needs
- Drive execution across teams to deliver high-quality platform capabilities on time and at scale
- Ensure strong alignment across Engineering, Product, Sales, and Client Success teams
- Balance platform expansion, module integration, and simplification to create a cohesive user experience
- Establish operational rigor, performance metrics, and reporting to measure platform success
Customer, Market & Growth Leadership
- Engage directly with strategic clients to understand needs, validate strategy, and strengthen executive relationships
- Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Solutions teams to drive adoption, expansion, and revenue growth
- Monitor adoption, engagement, and client outcomes to inform product and business decisions
- Maintain deep awareness of GovTech trends, AI advancements, and citizen experience innovations
- Represent REP strategy and vision with internal and external stakeholders
Cross-Portfolio & Executive Influence
- Collaborate with Tyler product and business unit leaders to enable seamless, unified resident experiences
- Advocate for platform-first thinking across Tyler’s product portfolio
- Align REP strategy with broader enterprise, state, and federal engagement initiatives
- Serve as a key leader in shaping Tyler’s long-term resident engagement vision
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in product management, platform leadership, or general management roles, including ownership of SaaS platforms or digital products
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing and scaling cross-functional teams
- Proven experience owning platform strategy, adoption, and business outcomes
- Strong experience in GovTech, public sector technology, or government-facing SaaS solutions
- Demonstrated success building and scaling modular, platform-based, or ecosystem products
- Experience driving AI, analytics, and data-driven platform capabilities
- Strong operational leadership with the ability to translate strategy into execution
- Executive-level communication skills with demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders
- Experience partnering across product, engineering, sales, and client success organizations
Preferred
- Experience serving in a VP/General Manager, Platform Leader, or senior product executive role
- Experience owning platform growth, commercialization, or P&L components
- Experience building resident engagement, digital front door, CRM, or citizen experience platforms
- Experience influencing pricing, packaging, and go-to-market strategy
- Experience supporting state, local, or multi-entity government environments
- Familiarity with Tyler Technologies’ ecosystem or comparable GovTech platforms
- MBA or equivalent business leadership experience
