Sr. Automation Engineer
Description
Tyler Technologies is looking for a Sr. Automation Engineer at One Tyler Way, Moraine, OH 45439 to perform the following job duties:
- Design, implement and execute complex and/or high profile test cases based on product functional specifications. Develop, implement and maintain complex test automation scripts using automation tools. Utilize test automation framework for projects that require an in-depth knowledge of software functionality. Analyze software issues to determine root causes and provide detailed reports to the QA Manager and Software Engineers. Conduct thorough and accurate software testing and provide approvals during development sprints, integration, release, regression and patch software development phases; document results. Perform comprehensive testing and validate that program modules meet specifications and standards; this involves interviewing multiple parties to design effective test solutions. Create and maintain complex test plans and test cases for all testing assignments. Participate in agile scrum meetings to gain and apply knowledge of feature requirements, system operation, and ensure new feature stories have appropriate test criteria defined. Review and edit regression complex test case scripts. Document and execute black box, exploratory/heuristic, end-to-end, and any other testing approaches necessary to ensure effective product test coverage. Work with Product Analysts, Product Managers and other relevant parties to design and document test cases for new and existing complex product features and functionality within Tyler’s software application. Consult with product development in the design of acceptance test criteria for new product feature stories. Validate written documentation for accuracy and completion. Leverage risk based analysis and to identify manual test cases for test automation. Execute automated test scripts and evaluate results; assist with automation script maintenance. Identify and document software defects in the issue-tracking system and proactively communicate with software developers and other relevant parties. Provide direction to other QA staff, and conduct training as required. Identify new procedures, methods and/or tools to improve the efficiency of the QA process. Provide analysis and recommendations to support for development and support team employees. Perform other duties as assigned. Must work in the office at specified worksite at least three days per week with an option to work remotely up to two days per week within reasonable commuting distance of the worksite. Applicant must have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Computer Engineering and 3 years of experience in each of the following: software quality assurance or testing; experience working in the Public Sector or for a company that provides ERP software; developing automated tests using C#, in the Selenium or Playwright frameworks; Git products for a repository; working in QA testing methodologies and practices; working in the full software development lifecycle and associated methodologies; working with relational databases including SQL Server and SQL queries; and using an UI for automation framework to provide a shell over the Automation framework and produce results via a portal.
