Software Engineer
Description
Tyler Technologies is looking for a talented Software Engineer to bring new ideas and creative thinking to our Public Safety Products Division. This role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining mission-critical, cloud-hosted services that support real-time communication between dispatch systems and officers in the field.
The ideal candidate has strong experience building modern .NET applications, enjoys working in collaborative Agile teams, and is excited to help build scalable, highly available systems in AWS.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain .NET Core-based services and APIs.
- Build and support scalable, cloud-hosted solutions running on AWS (EC2, Lambda, CI/CD pipelines).
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle: analysis, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and support.
- Collaborate with software engineers, architects, and business analysts to solve complex technical problems.
- Advocate for best practices in architecture, design patterns, naming conventions, and code quality.
- Contribute to Agile team ceremonies and continuous improvement efforts.
- Ensure long-term success of public safety products by delivering reliable, high-quality technical solutions.
- Continuously grow technical skills through independent research and hands-on learning.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- 3+ years of experience designing and developing production software systems.
- 3+ years of C# development experience with strong object-oriented design skills.
- Experience with .NET Core, including asynchronous and multi-threaded programming models.
- Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, or similar.
- Experience with NoSQL data stores (e.g., DynamoDB or similar) is a plus.
- Familiarity with front-end frameworks such as Angular is a plus.
- Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms, including concepts such as EC2, Lambda, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code.
- Experience using modern development tools (Visual Studio, Git, JIRA).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
