Fleet Maintenance Clerk
Transdev is hiring a Fleet Maintenance Clerk to support our passenger bus maintenance operations in Inglewood, California. Conveniently located near LAX, we proudly serve ENTERPRISE maintaining a fleet of 40-foot CNG-powered transit buses that contribute to safe, dependable transportation for the city’s commuters and visitors.

As a Fleet Maintenance Clerk, you’ll be a vital part of our administrative team, working closely with technicians, parts suppliers, and operations staff to ensure the smooth day-to-day functioning of our location. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced maintenance environment working side-by-side with mechanics, coordinating with parts suppliers, managing inventory, and supporting efforts to keep our fleet running with minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities:  
  • Provide administrative support to the bus maintenance team, including technicians, supervisors, managers, and the client.
  • Perform parts research and purchasing to support timely bus repairs.
  • Track parts inventory transactions, perform physical inventory counts, and help manage stock levels to ensure availability of critical parts.
  • Process invoices and coordinate with vendors to ensure timely payments and smooth supply chain operations.
  • Maintain accurate work order records, preventive maintenance schedules, and safety-related documentation.
  • Communicate with vendors and suppliers to purchase parts, coordinate deliveries, assist with sublet service contracting, and resolve operational issues.
  • Help ensure smooth shop operations by minimizing downtime through efficient clerical support.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the maintenance shop and office functions.
 
 
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent. 
  • Prior experience in office, data entry, or administrative support, especially in a maintenance or fleet operations setting.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook). 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with mechanics, vendors, and supervisors. 
  • Comfortable working in a shop environment with exposure to vehicle maintenance operations.            
  • Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.   
  
Physical Requirements:
  • The essential functions of this position require the ability to:
  • Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day) in an office trailer located within and active maintenance yard.
  • Frequently walk across open-air shop areas, including uneven, sloped, or slippery surfaces.
  • Push and pull objects, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or parts stored at ground level.
