Safety/Service Worker
Transdev in Statesboro Ga. 303458 is hiring a Safety/Service Worker. The Safety/Service Worker ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and company policy. We are looking for customer service-oriented professionals who are dedicated to safety, operation and maintenance support.

Key Responsibilities:
- Organize and coordinate and furnish training programs. Involves: Develop and present training and instructional programs and materials.
- Monitor and conduct CDL training for non-CDL applicants assisting in helping them obtain their CDL by managing the program effectiveness.
- Perform risk management and safety functions. Implements policies, procedures, and internal controls related to compliance with health, safety, security and environment rules and regulations.
- Identify health and safety risks and recommend corrective actions to control and limit liability.
- May inspect buildings and vehicles and prepare billings to recover repairs and loss of revenue due to vehicle accidents.
- Assist with collecting data and analyze accident or incident rends. Investigate claims of damage or injury reported by passengers, pedestrians or other drivers.
- Assist with quality assurance inspections such as post-accident and post employee claims, injury inspections and monitoring.
- Participate in maintenance compliance activities related to the environment.
- Perform related duties as required. Performs duties immediate supervisor, co-workers, or subordinates to ensure continuity of operations.
- Responds to serious accidents or emergencies to ensure proper investigation in Safety’s absents.
- Monitor maintenance of supplies on buses. May oversee parking of buses in the yard.
- Provides behind-the-wheel instruction according to corporate and client specifications in all aspects of vehicle operation and passenger transportation, including defensive driving, service area familiarization, passenger loading, unloading and securement.
- Assist the safety department in ensuring all safety manuals, programs, policies, and procedures are current and meet the needs of the location.
- Assist with all training activities and ensure accurate completion of all training-related employee records.
- Establish a relationship with client and corporate personnel to identify additional training needs, resources, and opportunities.
- Assist the safety department with preparing and conducting monthly safety meetings.
- Help to maintains an adequate and complete employee filing system and participates in audits and inspections to meet client and corporate expectations.
- Oversee location SSTM program to reduce the number of workplace injuries
- Conducts road observations to evaluate operator safety, customer service, and systematic knowledge of the service.
- Assist maintenance and outside vendor with maintaining the cleanliness of fleet vehicles - interior and exterior, fueling buses, replenishing fluids, bus supplies i.e., paper towels, and sanitizer supplies
- Travel requirement outside of immediate area (as a percent):
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- 2 years related work experience in the passenger transportation industry.
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
- Experience in location safety management and/or operations management.
- Providing quality CDL training, including the creation and management of training materials.
- CDL required.
- Application of knowledge of applicable federal, state and local laws, regulations, rules and ordinances, including accessibility legislation, environmental protection and worker health and safety.
- Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
- The employee is generally subjected to long periods spent standing, sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen.
- Work environment will be a combination of both indoors and outdoors.
