Road Supervisor
Transdev in Longmont, CO is hiring a Road Supervisor. Road Supervisors ensures all routes are completed in compliance with safety procedures. We are seeking customer service-oriented professionals who are dedicated to safety.

Key Responsibilities: 
  • Conduct self in an appropriate manner as a representative of Transdev and RTD while working effectively in a multi-culturally diverse environment.
  •  Investigate accidents, incidents, disputes, and disturbances as assigned, in accordance with policy, and in conjunction with involved authorities.
  • Monitor and coach operator performance and behavior, coach operators in use of time, periodically check and instruct on proper revenue and fare box data collection, recommend training or retraining, as appropriate, to ensure compliance with safety policies.
  • Conduct time point and passenger load checks to ensure schedule and route efficiency.
  • Reschedule buses due to disruptions in service, in coordination with Dispatch.
  • Audit service, routes and road conditions and recommend alternate routes to Dispatch or suggest service improvements to management, as appropriate. Recommend adjustments to running time or additions/deletions to schedules and routes to ensure quality service.
  • Draft and submit reports regarding service disruptions, security incidents and operator performance/behavior in accordance with policies and procedures. May assist operators in filing of reports.
  • Assist with processing and follow-up of customer service complaints and requests, both in person and in the company computer system.
  • Assess ability of operators to continue in service when investigating accidents, incidents, and potential substance abuse issues.
  • Coordinate problem resolution among operators, management, passengers, and the public
  •  Perform detours and may assist RTD during special events and weather emergencies to minimize service disruption.
  • Complete physical work as needed, such as sanding bus yard and sidewalks, assisting stuck/sidetracked buses, making bus trades, and helping wheelchair passengers on or off buses, etc
  •  Inspect buses and employees for general appearance and safety compliance.
  •  Maintain company standards and model professional behavior
  • Drive routes periodically. 
  • Other duties as required
Qualifications: 

  • High School Diploma or GED, college level education highly desirable.
  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License
  • Supervisory experience with hourly employees; 2-3 years transit supervisory experience preferred
  • Computer literate - basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
  • Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason. 
Physical Requirements:
The essential functions of this position require the ability to:
  • Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions-100% of the job is performed outside, work alone and in remote locations. 
  • Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces
  • Push and pull objects up to 50 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level
  • Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
