Position at Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd.

We are seeking an intern in our Global Planning Group in the Human Resources Development Department in Osaka, Japan. This internship will start from May 25, 2026, to July 31, 2026 (10 weeks). The intern will be working on creating video content for our global e-learning platform. We expect the intern to complete the creation of e-learning content on common internal training content and a video promoting the corporate philosophy and vision. 
Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • To create a scheme and make a video to promote the corporate philosophy and vision. This may include reviewing and revising an existing storyline for the video.
  • To research best practices on video content in global companies on how to communicate their visions to their employees and external customers.
  • To understand our training system and structure.                                        
  • To create e-learning common internal training content.            
  • To create manuals on how to create video content.
  • May be asked to revise contents and manuals based on feedback received.         
  • May be asked to research IT tools for video creation.
  • May be asked to support any other project as needed.                                   
Qualifications 
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited university seeking a BS/BA degree in related fields.  
  • Ability to edit videos using Adobe Premiere Pro.
  • Ability to create videos using Adobe After Effects is a plus.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including cross-cultural communication.
  • Ability to communicate in Japanese (reading, writing, and speaking) at an intermediate level is required.
  • Ability to communicate in more than two or three languages (including Japanese) is a big plus.
  • Ability to be creative and utilize critical thinking.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Basic knowledge of human resources, human resources development, and public relations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Good attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
