Automotive Accounts Manager

Keystone Powdered Metal Company, a division of Sumitomo Electric Industries, is a global leader in powder metal component and assembly manufacturing supporting the automotive industry.  In support of growth objectives in the rapidly evolving automotive powertrain electrification sector, there is an immediate opening for an Automotive Account Manager based in the metro Detroit area. 

Core Responsibilities:

  • Proactively identify new business opportunities and plan steps needed to succeed.
  • Develop effective customer proposals by providing market intelligence, customer objectives, and engineering requirements.
  • Prepare and deliver Sales / Technical presentations to customers in cooperation with engineering.
  • Monitor market and industry trends and identify developing opportunities.
  • Assist with the development of and execution of the Strategic Business Plan.
  • Sustain relationships with exiting customer accounts and identify product/account continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Actively participate in conferences, exhibits, and trade association events.

Education/Background/Competencies:

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering, Business, Management, or equivalent.
  • Five years’ experience in automotive technical sales. Experience with advanced powertrains – including electrified drives – is ideal.
  • Working understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent communications, analytical, and problem solving skills.
  • Willingness to travel to both customer and other company locations.
