Position at Sumitomo Electric Wiring Systems, Inc.

BASIC PURPOSE:
  • Support internal and customer needs and eliminate duplicate tasks related to maintaining service part requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Service Part Contact/Maintenance - Act as primary contact for external purchasing groups and internal departments; inventory control - monitor inventory levels to meet customer needs and internally request parts as required; issue monthly internal reports (DLCS); perform yearly inventory review with customer support to dispose of discontinued inventory; attend weekly meetings with production plant to review CBO, Backorder and Past Due order status.  
  • Customer Relations - Act as the primary SEWS contact for assigned customer purchasing departments:  American Honda, ADC, Misc Customers, Aftermarket, and internal SEWS groups. Provide support to the Mass Production Delivery teams as needed. 
  • Order Management - Manage all customer orders to ensure accurate order receipt and entry, on-time delivery of shipments, and timely execution of expedited shipping requests.    
  • Inventory Control - Monitor SEWS inventory levels to ensure availability to meet customer demand; communicate with customers, SEWS plants, corporate staff and other suppliers to ensure timely arrival of finished goods; request expedited shipments of finished goods as needed.   
  • Product Delivery - Monitor shipping schedules to ensure complete and timely delivery of customer orders, coordinate special deliveries, communicate order status to customers; coordinate / communicate shipment requirements with SEWS Warehouse and 3rd-party material handling company
  • Monitor Customer Failed Orders - Monitor customer orders that cannot be processed through EDI due to missing information.  Research and define the missing information to allow the customer order to pass from EDI to the Warehouse Management System to prevent any mis-shipments to the customer. 
  • Maintain the SEWSEDI Part Cross Reference table - Create customer part number and internal part number matches using Customer Instruction Sheets and internal Design documents for assigned customers.  
  • Receive/confirm non-mass production requirements, issue DLCS/PSTS, and coordinate information with Sales, Mfg Plant, CSC, and Design Engineering (applies to new model and service part activity).
  • Other duties to be assigned as needed.
QUALIFICATION/REQUIREMENT:
  • Bachelor Degree or combination of education and relevant experience
  • 1-5 years of experience in production, material planning or warehouse operations, inventory control, purchasing, or customer service environment.
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of SEWS and customer personnel.
  • Skilled in areas of use of desktop and mainframe applications.
  • Skilled in the areas of problem solving, task management, organization, oral and written communication
  • Bilingual in Spanish is helpful but not required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
