Senior Procurement Specialist


SRC, Inc. is currently seeking an experienced electronics component commodity procurement professional who will report to the manager of Direct Procurement. This individual will be responsible for all aspects of and the overall procurement performance of SRC, Inc.’s printed circuit assembly requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute, fulfill and support SRC, Inc.’s printed circuit assembly commodity component requirements with special attention to determining the most appropriate surface mount technology (SMT) manufacturer or vendor orderable part number and appropriate factory standard pack quantity (SPQ) and shipping packaging options based on manufacturer data sheets, websites, and vendor websites
  • As needed, locate and review manufacturer data sheets/drawings
  • Work closely with Material Planner(s), Configuration Management, Supply Chain, and Printed Circuit Assemblies personnel to maximize efficiency and effectiveness
  •  In accordance with SRC, Inc.’s procurement procedures and best business practices, develop and administer the purchase order contract, ensuring where applicable, full compliance with all terms and conditions, FAR/DFARS, export and federal laws and regulations
    • Issue supplier solicitations in accordance with the source selection plan, established in conjunction with programs, engineering and quality, as applicable
    • Evaluate offers for solicitation compliance and award suppliers in accordance with the source selection plan and supplier performance status
  • Document and retain the purchase order contract, obtaining all required procurement compliance reviews and approvals
  • When necessary, engage with non-franchised electronic component brokers on the approved supplier listing who source components via grey market vendors, paying special attention to FAR/DFAR testing/data and traceability documentation requirements per contract
  • Manage the entire lifecycle of the purchase order contract, through the execution of modifications and administrative actions, as required  
  • Responsible for execution of micro purchase, simplified acquisition and all purchase order contracts in excess of the simplified acquisition threshold (>250K). Exceptions may be made at the Mgr, Direct Procurement discretion only
  • Provide non-assigned commodity and/or Indirect purchasing support as directed, to balance Procurement workload and support the needs of the business
  • Execute developed commodity strategies, linked to the overall supply chain strategy, including, but not limited to execution of; blanket purchase orders, purchase orders issued against Long Term Agreements (LTA’s), etc.
  • Conduct contract negotiations with suppliers to obtain the most competitive pricing and delivery schedules, to support the budgetary and delivery needs of the program and customer/end user
  • Implement proactive risk mitigation actions and provide support as needed, in the event risk is identified at any point in the procurement lifecycle
  • Interface with and work collaboratively with suppliers and internal customers in other functional departments and divisions, maintaining a positive business relationship at all times
  • Participate in and attend internal meetings with other functional departments and divisions, as required
  • Participate in and attend supplier meetings and conduct supplier visits, as required
  • Recommend process and system changes to improve efficiencies, where deficiencies are identified
  • Provide pricing information in support of Material Cost Estimating proposals for SRC, Inc. customers

 

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or 3+ years of surface mount technology electronic commodity component procurement, sales, and/or engineering experience in a government or commercial environment
  • Prior printed circuit board assembly contract manufacturing or electronic component franchised distribution experience is preferred
  • High standard of ethics and quality of work
