Senior Mission Operations Engineer


SRC, Inc. is currently seeking an experienced engineer for our Mission Operations Engineer position which supports the promotion and fielding of our newest products. 
The mission operations team implements and demonstrates a wide range of innovative solutions, tackling complex security challenges for the defense of the United States and our allies. 
The team is composed of subject matter experts on SRC’s technological capabilities. Team efforts include the advocation of innovative solutions through business capture activities such as field demonstration of emergent protypes, the technical analysis of demonstration and test data, crafting technical white papers, answering customer request for information (RFI), and supporting the various requests for proposals (RFP). 
In summary, team members are the primary conduits of information (e.g., user inputs and customer feedback) between product and business development teams by leveraging expertise in customer mission needs.
What You’ll Do
  • Lead the generation of white papers in response to customer’s RFIs and RFPs
  • Shape US GOV funding opportunities (e.g., SBIR, STTR, and OTA) with SRC’s Business Development team
  • Manage the decomposition of customer requirements into an actionable engineering plan for various types of field demonstrations
  • Interface with SRC’s customers to develop mission CONOPs and technical roadmaps
  • Guide small teams in resolving technical errors or challenges encountered with TRL 2 to TRL 7+ technologies
  • Direct and perform post event analysis efforts where technical improvement ideas are captured for product improvement
  • Review post-demonstration test reports and identify product improvement opportunities
  • Support the designing, planning, and execution of field demonstrations for emergent prototypes and established solutions as assigned
What You’ll Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 10 years work experience OR 14+ years technical experience working with customers that aligns with SRC’s defense solutions (preferred Electronic Warfare background)
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills, and possesses experience interacting with senior leaders in the US military and federal agencies (preferred military background or DOD experience)
  • Technical leadership experience integrating and demonstrating prototype systems
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision
  • Applicant should have mature organizational and planning skills
  • Able to lead a small team for short-term projects
  • Possesses strong interpersonal communication and team building skills
  • Experience analyzing data via Python, MATLAB®, or similar tools
  • Preferred experience with Unix-based systems (Cent OS, Ubuntu, etc.)
  • Ability to obtain US secret clearance
  • Able to accomplish up to 25 percent travel, mostly domestic

Total compensation for this role is market competitive. The anticipated salary range for this position based out of Syracuse, NY is estimated at $118,000 to $149,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s experience, skills, and abilities, geographic location as well as other business and organizational needs.
