SRC, Inc. is currently seeking a chemist for a non-laboratory position in our Arlington, VA, office.  This scientist will support our Environmental Health Analysis business area.  Duties will include reviewing product chemistry, chemical synthesis, and chemical and environmental fate studies.  The information is used to develop hazard assessments, risk assessments and chemical profiles for industrial chemicals, and to develop predictive tools for modelling chemical properties and effectsThis is an office-based position that will support various programs for the United States Environmental Protection Agency and related agencies.  This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic and successful organization, continuing to build on SRC’s reputation as an important contributor in our nation’s efforts to respond to emergencies and to protect our people and environment.  SRC is committed to providing a positive, supportive, and healthy work environment.    
    
What You’ll Do    
• Prepare chemical assessments based on stakeholder-provided and literature data    
Extract and summarize information from scientific studies on chemistry and environmental fate of chemicals    
Assess reliability of scientific data    
Populate information systems with data related to the chemistry and environmental fate of chemicals     
• Interact closely with other SRC scientists and SRC's clients     
    
What You’ll Bring    
• Ph.D. degree in chemistry, organic chemistry, polymer chemistry or a similar field    
• Demonstrated technical writing skills    
• Ability to communicate effectively and work with others as part of a multidisciplinary project team    
• Applicants are required to submit a cover letter, transcripts, and a writing sample    
    
Security Clearance Requirements:    
Must be a U.S. Citizen.  Applicants selected will be subject to a background verification and drug screen.

Total compensation for this role is market competitive. The anticipated salary range for this position based out of Arlington, VA is estimated at $75,000- $100,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s experience, skills, and abilities, geographic location as well as other business and organizational needs.
