Lead Test Engineer


SRC, Inc is actively seeking a lead test engineer to work out of their corporate headquarters office in Syracuse, NY. As a lead test engineer, you would be involved in developing advanced testing techniques for both software and systems applications through both manual and automated testing. As a member of the integration and test team, you would play an integral role in supporting leading edge communications, radar and electronic warfare (EW) technologies and unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) technologies for the intelligence and defense communities.

 Responsibilities

  • Lead the coordination of acceptance testing for iterative software and firmware baseline updates, including generating test plans, test procedures, and test reports along with requirements verification matrixes
  • Execute engineering dry runs and formal acceptance testing that are witnessed by the program customers (on-site and off-site)
  • Support the development of test automation for regression test suites
  • Train and mentor junior engineers on formal test methodologies, including verification and validation test concepts
  • Work collaboratively with on-site and distributed cross-discipline project teams to support the development of new products and updates to existing architecture
  • Perform data analysis, support trade studies, and prepare test briefings

 Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, physics, or related fields
  • Five to ten (5-10) years of relevant experience
  • Experience with systems integration, test plans, and test procedures
  • Applied knowledge and experience with Python, Matlab, or other scripting languages
  • Familiarity with RF test equipment, including spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and network analyzers
  • Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
  • Must be able to work well in a group setting and possess conviction when making decisions
  • Approximately 10 percent travel across the U.S. in support of acceptance and engineering test events
