The Position
- The purpose of the job is to provide consistent and relevant support and guidance in relation to health, safety, quality and environmental (HSQE) matters to all RES business units based in UK and Ireland.
- The HSQE Advisor will work together with all value-streams across the UK to set and deliver business objectives that are balanced in terms of HSQE impact as well as cost efficiency.
- There is a requirement for a manageable level of travel across the UK & Ireland.
- Physically be able to work on construction and operational sites (including climbing wind turbines subject to completing training, if required)
Accountabilities
- Reporting to the HSQE Manager to ensure that the HSQE performance of RES reflects good industry practice and complies with relevant legislation, guidance and company policies.
- Provide HSQE advice to business units.
- Undertake assurance activities.
- Develop, implement, and maintain the HSQE policies, procedures, and systems in line with the company’s objectives and legal requirements.
- Analyse HSQE trends identified through incidents, audit and inspections and present finding and recommendations to business units.
- Undertake regular site HSQE visits, varying depending on the risks or emergent issues.
- Undertake incident investigations.
- Engage in a positive and collaborative manner with contractor partners, clients and any other relevant stakeholders.
- Support the business in the setting out competency requirements and to help develop training programmes.
- Promote a positive HSQE culture within the organisation and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Undertake tasks as directed by the HSQE Manager as and when required.
Skills you will need:
- Able to make sound and timely decisions based on relevant information, analysis and judgement.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively with various stakeholders, such as regulators, clients, contractors and suppliers, as well as to build rapport, trust and collaboration within and across teams.
- Able to establish and maintain positive and trusting relationships with various stakeholders, based on mutual respect and understanding.
Knowledge you will need:
- Minimum requirement, CMIOSH or working towards CMIOSH.
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent
- ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 lead auditor certification or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of HSQE legislation, standards and best practices applicable to the UK&I
Experience you will have:
- Experience in the renewables sector and/or experience of operational sites
- Experience of construction or manufacturing industry will be considered.
- Undertaking internal and supplier audits.
- Experience applying, implementing, and developing of Quality, Health and Safety and/or Environment management systems.
Other attributes:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and HSQE software tools
- Physically able to work on construction and operational sites (including climbing wind turbines subject to completing training)
- Full Driving License that allows driving in the UK & Ireland.
