About the Role:
We are looking for a Land Acquisition Manager to work as part of the RES Australia wind, solar and storage development teams. This role will be responsible to plan and acquire land for renewable energy projects, particularly for grid connections & you will be involved in the acquisition of linear infrastructure i.e transmission lines.
The role requires travel to various sites, as it involves field work.
Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Lead the negotiation and security of appropriate property rights for the Company’s renewable energy developments with a focus on securing land required for grid connections.
- Supporting the land acquisition team in securing land for main project sites.
- Find practical solutions to resolve landowner concerns and build comfort.
- Liaising with and providing instructions to internal and external solicitors and agents.
- Supporting the due diligence and financial close process for all aspects of property.
- Supporting new sites selection work from a property perspective, primarily the development of land which might be required for a grid connection.
- Maintaining the company land templates and supporting the development of new documents as required.
- Managing the internal approval and document control process for property agreements.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
- A high level of working knowledge of relevant property law and documentation.
- Quickly building rapport with rural landowners, over the phone and in person
- Experience of budgetary and risk management.
- Experience in the acquisition of linear infrastructure (i.e. transmission lines, gas pipelines, rail and/or road) is highly preferred.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, experience with GIS software is desirable.
- Knowledge of renewables, specifically wind and solar energy or conventional power generation is preferred, but not essential, if transferable skills can be demonstrated.
- Flexibility to travel throughout Australia
- Current driver’s license as it imvolves field job.
