About the Role:
We are looking for a Technical Manager to report to Head of Engineering. This role is responsible for the Team’s deliverables and sustainable functioning. Techncial Manager ensures the wider business is availed of the deliverables as fall within the Team’s scope, facilitating clear communication and visibility of the Team’s activities with its stakeholders, and assisting with the scheduling and prioritisation of the Team’s work in the context of the business’ needs.

Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Leading and Managing a team (8-10 direct reports)
- Identify and implementing continuous improvement initiatives including
- Add value and reduce costs (DEVEX, CAPEX and OPEX) for projects wherever possible
through efficient working, careful scoping, procurement and innovative design solutions. - Manage RES Australia’s Technical strategy and risk exposure through for development projects,
including resource monitoring and layout design. - Lead the negotiation of relevant third-party consultancy agreements and support the negotiation
of relevant sections of third-party construction contracts including Engineering Procurement
Construction (EPC), Balance of Plant (BoP) and Supply and Install (S&I).
Skills & Experience:
- Extensive understanding of wind layout design and energy yield best practice
- Good understanding of solar layout design and energy yield best practice
- Good understanding of consultancy contracts or agreements and identifying technical risks
within contracts - Thorough understanding of power generation economics and financial models, and the
economic factors that impact renewable project feasibility - Leadership and Time Management skills
- Ability to navigate through technical problems implementing “best for project”
approach.
