Position Title:            Business Process Improvement/System Support Analyst, Emerging Talent Intern

Hourly Rate:             $19.00 (Undergraduate)

All internship positions are onsite and require regular, in-person attendance at the designated work location.

OVERVIEW OF DEPARTMENT:

The Business Process Improvement/System Support Unit within New York City Transit’s Department of Subways, Operations Support, serves as the agency’s business owner for enterprise workforce management and timekeeping systems supporting approximately 30,000 employees across multiple operational departments. These systems include ATS, UTS, and the MTA Insight application.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The intern will be responsible for assisting with the following:

  • Document and track post-implementation issues for the digitized exception claim form (overtime slip) including logging user issues and coordinating resolutions.
  • Compile and analyze user feedback on the digitized overtime slip process to identify recurring issues and recommend process refinements.
  • Assist with requirements documentation for the Construction Flagging Employee Automation Pick feature with the MTA Insight App.
  • Support User acceptance testing (UAT) for the Construction Flagging Automated Pick Process, including test case preparation, tracking, and issue logging.
  • Provide post-production user support for the Construction Flagging Automation Pick, capturing field issues and escalating as appropriate.
  • Assist with requirement documentation for the new data fields within the UTA database.
  • Support the timely entry of TA account numbers in the database.
  • Assist with general administrative tasks in support of unit operations

PROJECTS:

  • Support post‑implementation activities for the Digitization of Exception Claim Form initiative, including issue tracking, user feedback review, and process refinement.
  •  Assist with the requirements, UAT and post support of the Construction Flagging Employee Automated Pick feature within the MTA Insight App.
  • Support requirements documentation and testing for the new data field enhancement within the Work Trains/Construction Flagging module.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is a must.
  • The candidate should possess organizational, analytical and communication skills. 
  • The candidate should be able to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • The candidate should have a keen eye for detail and be able to work independently while being an active team player.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

  • Matriculated in an undergraduate program in good standing with at least 2.5 GPA.
  • Major(s) Preferred: Business Administration, Information System, Public Administration, or related field.
