The Role:

We are hiring a Competitive Intelligence Analyst who will be responsible for monitoring and reporting on industry and technical developments. In this role you will combine research and analytical skills to predict the likely actions of competitors and model scenarios based on possible different options undertaken by competitors. You will also be able to analyse and model impacts of competitor offerings on the company’s goods and services. To be successful in the role you will need to think creatively about non-traditional competitors and monitor their sector for potential industry disruptors. As well as collecting and analysing data, you will be responsible for producing written reports and communicating the information and recommendations in formats that can be used by the senior leadership, sales team and our partner network. This work will assist the company with making effective strategic decisions to improve competitiveness, expand market share and improve product market fit.

Why is this role important?

Competitive intelligence provides strategic insight about competitors in the marketplace. This data is used to detect new threats or opportunities and create more effective business strategies moving forward. This intelligence allows field sales teams and partners to quickly identify and respond to threats or opportunities and enables them to make data-driven decisions to gain and maintain competitive advantage.

  • Gathering and analysing data on topics such as competitor new and existing products, tactics, market share, market position and business opportunities; preparing reports to provide insight on these areas for sales and senior management.

  • Conducting ongoing analysis of key competitors; producing reports and advising on strengths/weaknesses.

  • Developing compelling storylines on areas of focus supported by powerful written and visual material.

  • Producing materials on market trends; proactively distributing these.

  • Assisting in the development of a competitive intelligence portal, including managing content such as reports, newsfeeds and updates.

  • Monitoring and reporting on management information via analytics and dashboards.

  • Collating information from multiple sources to produce beneficial and actionable insight for the sales and marketing teams.

  • Keeping up to date with activity and trends in relevant sectors and markets.

  • Test and evaluate competitors products, understand the strengths, weaknesses and communicate this in concise information to the sales team.

Skills needed for this role

  • Competitive intelligence analysts should have excellent research skills with the ability to analyse and interpret large amounts of data from multiple sources. They should also be detail-oriented with good problem-solving abilities. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to manage challenging stakeholders.

  • The ability to test and evaluate products to come to conclusion based on real world usage, rather than hearsay or marketing influenced communication will be an important part of this role. 

  • Strong written communication skills as well as the ability to present information to groups of people will be needed to be successful in this role. Public speaking and briefing will be part of this role and a level of expertise in presenting will be required.

  • Industry knowledge will be of use in this role but the successful candidate must be able to remain neutral to provide clear and unbiased opinions on the competition.

Location

This role will be a working from home role, so any location in which Logitech has a legal entity will be considered, Fluent english language skills are a must and a 2nd language a distinct advantage.
