Job Description:
The Purchasing Assistant is responsible for procuring parts and materials necessary to fulfill
order requirements and maintain inventory levels.
Specific Responsibilities:
● In SAP, turn requisitions (auto generated, special and capital ex) into PO’s.
● Assign vendor to reqs and items not automatically assigned.
● Verify requisitions are assigned to the correct vendor. Make corrections as necessary.
● Confirm PO’s have been received by vendors and make any required adjustments to PO’s
to ensure timely delivery.
● Ensures that appropriate lead times are achieved.
● Completes and maintains records including purchase orders and purchasing reports.
● Maintains purchasing files.
● Expedites purchase orders and update information in SAP as necessary.
● Identifies and addresses purchasing and inventory problems or discrepancies.
● Generates the return of material to vendors.
● Assists in maintaining appropriate inventory levels.
● Attends meetings as required.
● Interfaces with internal customers in order to provide the customer with accurate responses
to inquiries in a courteous and prompt manner.
● Works closely with Warehouse, Accounting, Engineering, Maintenance and Production to
ensure procurement planning and system accuracy.
● Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining professional business relations with
vendors.
● Processes all purchase orders, returns etc. to be completed in the given time frame.
● Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
● Experience working with ERP Systems, prefer SAP
● Strong computer skills. Microsoft Office, mainly Excel
● Ability to work in a fast-paced environment efficiently & accurately
● Team player with positive professional image
● Very detailed oriented and committed to 100% accuracy
● Good oral communications skills with proven ability to communicate work results to
supervisor and other personnel
● Ability to stand for extended periods of time, lift 25lbs repetitively and 50lbs periodically
The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:

- Base salary range: $23.25/hr

This compensation range is specific to the State of Colorado and takes into account various factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to a candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiencies for the role.
