Position at Wild Fork Foods

The main responsibility of this role is to develop the category strategy and manage a continually evolving product assortment that is both consistent with the overall Wild Fork brand strategy, while pushing the boundaries and driving innovation within your responsible categories.

 

  • Responsible for identifying, developing, negotiating and making the final purchasing decisions for products within your responsible product categories.
  • Responsible for identifying and building effective, long lasting relationships with the vendor community.
  • Responsible for assisting in the development of process specifications in order to provide guidance and expectations to vendor partners.
  • Responsible for maintaining advanced technical and business level understanding of the competitive environment, emerging technology and strategic direction of the Wild Fork business to help identify gaps or opportunities to improve product portfolio.
  • Responsible for creating a Planogram strategy and working closely with other cross functional leaders to create visual displays and internal communication to allow for an easy consumer shopping experience.
  • Responsible for performing regular training sessions to educate new employees and the overall organization on your product categories as well as regular updates on new products.
  • Responsible for conducting Weekly Business Reviews of their assigned responsibilities. Consulted on the Monthly P&L Performance Reviews of their assigned responsibilities

Qualifications

  • 3+ years’ experience in category management or product development of consumer packaged goods, retail or foodservice industry. Experience managing categories within the meat and/or seafood industry.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Culinary experience a plus.

Knowledge & Abilities

  • Must have a strong business acumen
  • Must have strong understanding of the meat and/or seafood industry fundamentals
  • Love to Cook & Love to Eat with a passion for sharing expertise throughout organization
  • Must be able to work effectively and meet deadlines while working with minimal supervision.
  • Must possess intermediate to strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • eCommerce business experience is a plus
