Position Summary:

In this new role at Conair, the Senior Director, Total Rewards will provide strategic input and operational leadership in the development and implementation of a Conair Total Rewards Philosophy as well as the design, implementation, administration, and communication of compensation, benefit, and equity plans, programs, and policies.

Responsibilities

Initially the focus of this role is the US, however it will expand to have global responsibilities within a 2-year timeframe.

 Has responsibility for:

  • Leading and inspiring an operational payroll and benefits team (3 team members)
  • Providing day-to-day control of the pay program
  • Reviewing some/all proposed pay changes for conformance to policies and procedures
  • Participating in, conducting and/or analyzing applicable salary surveys
  • Developing recommendations for salary increase guidelines to senior leadership
  • Researching and monitoring the marketplace to ensure total rewards programs and policies remain competitive and aligned to the organization’s needs
  • Conducting assessments to ensure the ranges remain competitive (often at least every other year)
  • Provide the CHRO and Executive Management Team with competitive market data, competitive and best practices and advice and counsel on the effective development, delivery, governance and communication of total rewards programs.
  • Ensuring that all total rewards programs and processes are in compliance with state and federal laws and regulations including ensuring that no aspect of the reward program discriminates on any basis except performance
  • Support the Executive Management Team in its responsibility for governing the financial feasibility and regulatory compliance of reward programs and their effectiveness in attracting, retaining and engaging employees.
  • Providing management with periodic cost management information and reports on the programs’ effectiveness
  • Coordinating the communication of important aspects of the Compensation Program to managers and employees including:
  • Supporting managers in understanding and communicating the programs, including the development of communication materials and training
  • Providing tools and information to help managers make sound compensation decisions
  • Partnering with managers in evaluating new and evolving positions and ensuring appropriate placement.
  • Ensuring health and welfare and other employee benefits are delivered in accordance with local laws and company philosophy.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of combined experience in Total Rewards, People Operations, and/or Financial Planning. You have a successful track record of building and leading teams and have experience partnering with C-Suite executives.
  • Undergraduate degree in Human Resources Management, Business, Finance, Economics, or another relevant field.
  • Additional preferred credential(s): master's degree in related field, CCP, CEP, CBP, CEBS, SPHR, or PHR.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of global compensation plan design and administration – base salary, annual incentive, commission, and equity, including deep benchmarking expertise.
  • Knowledge of accounting, tax, legal, and regulatory requirements governing labor, compensation, and benefits – and compliance filings, reporting, and notice requirements; international knowledge a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully collaborate with stakeholders at multiple levels in multiple functions both individually and within a team to provide the best solution for the business.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, partnering, and leadership skills; approachable and responsive.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to communicate both qualitative and quantitative data effectively.
  • Initiative, resilience, precision, and flexibility amidst a high volume of time-sensitive requests and projects.
  • Solid coordination, time management, and project management skills with the utmost attention to detail and accuracy.

Environmental Factors:

  • Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to use a computer keyboard and view a monitor for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to travel domestically and internationally for business (% if needed)
  • Must be Covid-19 vaccinated.
  • We currently operate on a hybrid schedule; candidate must be willing to come into the Stamford office 50% of time.
