Audio-Visual (A/V) Engineer, SME | Req#2794

ActioNet is looking for an Audio-Visual (A/V) Engineer/Subject Matter Expert to join our existing team supporting a long-term client. This position requires at least an active Secret Clearance, and can hold up to a TS SCI. This exciting contract is very close to the Department of State’s mission. You will be in a role that will have a real impact on the safety of our citizens abroad and will be joining a motivated driven team.

We are looking for an experienced Audio Visual Engineer with experience in the pre-fabrication and fabrication stages of construction at new facilities to aid in the design and implementation of audio-visual features at a new and existing facilities.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

· Assist in the planning and installation of conduit and electrical requirements specific to the support of selected audio-visual equipment.

· Review pre-construction design and documentation.

· Provide assistance with technical design, bid/service contract pricing, miscellaneous material and labor estimates for proposals as needed.

· Conduct site surveys as needed.

· Contribute to, review, and approve system descriptions.

· Establish and maintain positive and effective line of communication with the client.

· Manage medium to large projects.

· Display job site leadership.

· Perform tests on integrated systems and train client on use.

· Test and calibration A/V equipment.

· Assume ownership of project installation when required.

· Prepare job documentation as needed.

· Develop & coordinate necessary CAD drawings.

· Coordinate with, and direct technicians assigned to project.

· Provide continuing engineer support during the installation phase.

· Control system programming as needed.

· Develop and write custom operation manuals.

· Ability to diagnose complex system problems.

· Customer liaison in support of Project Manager.

· Meet with vendors/prospective vendors to help evaluate product if requested.

· Assist other departments with technical support issues if needed.

· Provide field service support if requested.


· Possess excellent communication and inter-personal skills.

· Perform effectively despite sudden deadlines and changing priorities.

· Proven ability to identify, analyze, and solve problems.

· Highly reliable self-starter; can be counted on to complete assignments.

· Proven competence in working with others in a team effort.


· CAD/Visio drawings.

· Complete understanding of control protocols.

· Highly knowledgeable on latest networking technologies.

· PC proficient down to component level.

· Education and Experience

· High School Diploma or Equivalent.

· Minimum of five years of directly relatable experience as described above.
